I failed to see the freighter convoy and rogue scientist ones for as long as I am playing the game.
Did anybody else encounter them recently?

I know they are rigged to very low RCI values according to the patch notes, but I had some seriously low RCI values in my games - without seeing them a single time.

Does anybody know what the *exact* requirements (in terms of actual RCI values) are?

Is anybody else in favor of easing these requirements a bit to actually have them pop up once in a while?
If there is some consensus I would throw up a mantis issue for it...

I have to say that i didn't even know there were more than the first two types of quests in the game so far. I have never seen any others than 'Spacefaring tech' and 'Terraforming Kit'. So, yeah, I can confirm that its not just you who's never seen them.

Where are they in the alpha/post release patch notes?

The devs can correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know only those couple of initial quests are actually active right now.

I think Chris said to expect the first quest-blob to appear on Monday's patch.   Looking forward to that.

More quests are coming next week I believe. Chris was working on them up until Friday, but held off releasing them due to not wanting to accidentally break something that required patching and thus working this Mother's Day weekend.

Wow, I won't lie.

That is, by far, the stupidest quest i have ever heard.

Why...because if I heard about the quest...I would already be on the planet?

That description really needs to be worked on. The mechanics could work on (for example, you go to an ice belt as a courier to deliever the last piece of tech and you are interdicted on the return trip) but in its current form it is just bad. Not even silly, that would imply it could be funny.

Don't they have radios in space? Surely people can talk without being face to face.
Or am I just totally misunderstanding you?

If that is the case, you could just as easily radio them back the information.

I just think the description of needs to be changed, that is all. For example, you need to run out to an ice belt to recover some hydra technical documents, and you are intercepted on the return trip. Same exact concept, but explains why you can be intercepted in the first place.

It might be kind of hard to tell someone how, say, a nuclear bomb or similarly advanced technology works over the radio. But I get your point, other texts would make more sense.
I can already tell this is going to be a roller coaster ride of disappointment.

In regards to the flavor text, it makes sense. The scientists are huge fans of Hydral Technology, because it is advanced and cool. They discover something that you want, so in order to get to play around in your ship for a while, they'll trade you their new technology. It's like a kid convincing Disney that he'll give them anti-gravity technology, but he wants a ticket to Disneyland before he'll give it up.
