Would you prefer ArcenDebugLog.txt, UnhandledErrors.txt or ErrorsReportedByEngine.txt?
All of the above, and most importantly a save where the errors reproduce for you :)

Ok, I see in the log that the recent errors are from the contracts screen (also used for political deals once you've picked an overall category) and related to something working with a Tech type (though not necessarily, that's just the code that hit the error).

But when I load the save and poke around a bunch of contracts screens and political deal screens, particularly the options that have you pick a tech, I get no errors.

Can you try loading the save and seeing if you get an error?  If so, what precisely did you do right before it happened?

Ok, for 0.905 I put in a ton of error prevention to try to surround the contracts/deals screen dropdowns with a ring of steel.  We'll see if it helps or not :)

In my game, I just formed my first federation in the year 3013.

I kept the Thoraxians and Burlusts fighting for most of 10 years (evening the fight if one of them was going to win). This allowed the Boarines, Andors, and Peltians to become the three main powers and gain a tech lead through sharing research with each other. Formed a federation with Andors and Boarines, Peltians are glad to join for safety, Burlusts are intimidated into joining. Now I just need to conquer the remaining few races.

Maybe the Burlust ground forces will help take the Acutian homeworld which has had 10000 strength Boarine/Andor Armadas orbiting it for 5 years.

Also, the Evucks are not spacefaring yet.  :P
An update:
Thoraxians and Evucks are the last two non-alliance members and part of the Thoraxian protectorate, and are way behind on tech and power from the federation. Thoraxians have an option to join alliance for a cost in credits. Suppress AFA missions consistently give me ~30000 credits. The cost to join alliance is going up almost as fast as I can gain them only doing AFA missions. The cost is now over 300,000 credits.   :'(
The good news is that I am almost there  :P

On the planet that's had 10,000 strength of enemies on it for all that time, is there a save somewhere I can look at?  Just want to see if some factor is having an unintentionally profound impact on that.

I can upload a save in a couple hours.

I think that one might have been fixed already with the defensive reinforcement logic and other changes in more recent patches, since the population started to go down pretty quickly soon after that post. I think the defenders kept spawning new ships too quickly, so the armadas never got around to orbital bombardment.

Having that much strength on one planet is problem enough though, since it meant their outposts were undefended which led to these two issues:
Race outposts getting detroyed, but they will not go to war with the race that is destroying them.
Overwhelming force is attacking a planet, and ignores it's own defense completely.

Yeah alright, it was fatigue and lack of testing. The errors are back.

I've already uploaded a save. All I did for the last ten minutes was tech raids on the Evuck homeworld, and that's when the Error popped up again. Do you want me to upload the current error logs as well?

Tech raids, eh.  I guess that could make sense.  The main thing at this point is to retest in 0.905 when that's out, but if I get a minute away from wrestling down these blasted trade route bugs I'll take a look at the tech raid thing in specific.  Thanks :)

That said, stop worrying about it. I'm apparently the only one of the (non-silent) testers that has this issue, so you probably have plenty of bigger fish to fry.

Few fish are bigger than actual errors, particularly ones that happen often.  Sure, you're the only guy I've heard about these from, but that doesn't mean it won't translate into, say, 0.5% of the overall audience hitting them on Friday.

That is an outcome I wish to avoid.


But yea, just retest in 0.905 and let me know if you hit more errors.  If not, we'll call it done :)
