Huh, I see you have been working on this :) Very nice

You can find more stuff to add from the resources where we found info on alliances and ultimate buildings since that single file containts all text in the game.

Though, I'm not going to check it all through. I mean, I've now discovered everything I wanna know. Well, okay, I still don't know what pirate empires do. I had it form once and there was some text about legendary pirate named Murdoch(Yeaaaah, for some reason alien pirate is named Murdock) uniting pirates or something, but I never dealt with them so I don't know if pirate empire has special mechanics or special mechanics or what they do besides giving you achievement for ignoring them.

Just FYI, Murdoch is kind of a running gag in Arcen games. In AI War, planet names are randomly generated, except that in every game, there will always be one named Murdoch, unless the player modifies the altplanetnames.txt. Why that name was chosen, I don't know exactly. Possibly an A-team reference, but maybe not. In any case, it was also the name of an "infamous bandit" in Skyward Collapse, too, for example.
I can already tell this is going to be a roller coaster ride of disappointment.

You can modify altplanetnames.txt and leave murdoch in as well, if you feel like it.

Yep. I've got several hundred additions, and Murdoch is still there. Makes it much less likely to appear in any given game, though.

How many different planet names are there by default anyway?
Furthermore, it is my opinion that Hari must be destroyed.

In which game?

Well, TLF. I just kind of assumed that the game pulled the planet names the same way AI War does.
Furthermore, it is my opinion that Hari must be destroyed.

Speaking of which, why exactly doesn't TLF use an altplanetnames.txt like AIW does? And wasn't there mention of an altshipnames.txt a while back, too?

There's a big list of 671 ship names, but no planet names I was ever able to find in the uncompressed files. And I don't know how to open the compressed ones.

Ah, I found the ship list. Was expecting a list in RuntimeData like AIW has, but it seems like editing that should work.

I remeber Chris specifically saying that planet names can't be changed, but I don't remember if a reason was given.

I remember similar, but I think the quote from Chris was related to not being able to change a name in an already created game due to the engine. I would image it should be possible to have an alt-planets file for this game at some point if enough people want it and Mantis it, though I could be wrong.

Looking through the game's XML file, there is actually a lot of stuff from previous Arcen titles still in there. In particular, it looks like the entire Bionic Dues multiplayer tooltips are in there, and I saw at least one mention of Storm Dash (Valley 1). The Murdoch bandit text that he saw was probably leftover from Skyward Collapse, though I would not be surprised by a Murdoch reference in this game.

On topic, I copied over quite a bit of relevant text from the a_bionic.xml file over onto the wiki. It is kind of a mess right at the moment in a number of articles, but I hope to do some formatting today, and anyone is welcome to help me.
In particular at the moment:
http://arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=Races (and the individual race pages it links to which are empty right now)
http://arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=Player_Combat
http://arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=Ships
http://arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=Contracts There is a ton here, not sure what to do...

The Pirate Empire is unified by "Dread Pirate Murdoch". In files there is text you get after dissolving Pirate Empire which states that he flees the solar system.

Added (incomplete) articles for each of the races. Left the Burlust and Thoraxian ones mostly empty, and I'm rather annoyed by the fact that the intro story video blurbs, while neat, often duplicate word-for word information in the race descriptions... Eh, someone else can remove them if they find it sufficiently bothersome.

It'd also help if Chris/Keith could specify here or on wiki how the races vary in ship combat strength, if at all.

Hey, those look great!
Should I add them to the main page as subpoints to the Races entry, or just leave them for now?
Also, one of the categories for those pages is "The Last Federation", while we had previously used "TheLastFederation".
Do we want to use both? or one of us can fix it later.
I think we can add:
[[The Last Federation]]
[[category:TheLastFederation]]
To every article at the bottom.

Thanks :)

I think they are (or will be) long enough to keep their own articles, and even if they weren't it seems most wikis keep such things as separate articles. So yeah, leave them.

AI War uses category "AIWar", and I copied it for Bionic Dues, but... bah, there isn't actually any reason to keep that around as a standard. I'd say use "The Last Federation" on all future articles; someone else can write a bot to fix the older category tags as needed.

I actually meant should I add them on the list on this page.  :)

Yeah, right now is a great time to pick one standard and stick to it. Right now there are 17 pages under [category:TheLastFederation] and your 8 race pages under [category:The Last Federation]. I can convert all of the pages to just one of them easily enough right now, which one should we pick?
