On the planet that's had 10,000 strength of enemies on it for all that time, is there a save somewhere I can look at?  Just want to see if some factor is having an unintentionally profound impact on that.

I can upload a save in a couple hours.

I think that one might have been fixed already with the defensive reinforcement logic and other changes in more recent patches, since the population started to go down pretty quickly soon after that post. I think the defenders kept spawning new ships too quickly, so the armadas never got around to orbital bombardment.

Having that much strength on one planet is problem enough though, since it meant their outposts were undefended which led to these two issues:
Race outposts getting detroyed, but they will not go to war with the race that is destroying them.
Overwhelming force is attacking a planet, and ignores it's own defense completely.

Here is the save, look at the Boarines attacking the Acutians. It is as I expected, that the orbiting armadas immediately start destroying population pretty quickly, which was not happening very quickly before in the old version.

It is also a pretty good example of over-committing forces on the attack at the expense of having no defenders from both the peltians and boarines, so I will attach the save to the second Mantis ticket above also.

Yeah, and this game really is awesome!

I just won for the first time!  The ending image and song are particularly cool and fit perfectly! It goes along well with the feeling of having actually accomplished something significant.

(although I was expecting the credits to roll when I hit next the final time instead of bringing me right back to the main menu)

I am waiting until the next patch or two to play again, because  most exploits and bugs should be fixed by then.

The big thing I'm waiting for is the still-invulnerable planet (despite the bug fix that solved issue #0014247 and thus at least some instances of this). Once that's taken care of I'm good to go, though I think this game sorely requires internal documentation. Otherwise, how is the player supposed to know what effects his actions will have? Look at Paradox's games: tooltips everywhere. I love that about their games. TLF clearly wants to provide the player with detailed information, via the detailed planetary info pages, but we also need more information like what effects the RCI stats have (and how strong those effects are). I'm not sure if other stuff, like the fact that trade routes cause relationship boosts, are mentioned or not, but if it's not then that information really needs to be in-game so a player can know that without having to hear it on the forums.
Furthermore, it is my opinion that Hari must be destroyed.

The decimals showing up as 87.00044 in Planet View is what is bugging me the most. I lose immersion.
