Hey, I got the game this week and played it a bit (not too much yet). After I started a normal game and played for a while I decided it would be cool to try the observer mode to get a feeling for what will happen in the solar system if I speed up the time a bit.
I started 2 Observer games and got really weird results, and just want to know, if other people see the same stuff happen:
1. Overhelming force is not able to defeat planet, because ships are produced too fast.
-I actually asked the devs about this, and they stated, that this might be a balance issue right now.
2. Ships (from a race or pirates) attack a planet, but they do not fight.
-The ships are orbitting around that planet, and the stats below the planet show their power, but there are no fighting animations and nobody loses any ships.
3. Overhelming force is attacking a planet, and ignores it's defence completly.
-Say A is attacking B, and A is 1000 times bigger then B (ship power). A sends all ships to B's homeplanet. B is holding them off for a crazy long time (see 1. or 2.) and simultaniously seniding a few ships to destroy all of A's outposts.
4. Ships idling.
-I see a lot of ships just idling around doing nothing, while they should assist in fights right next to them.
It feels like the simulation is not working at all...is this just for me? Or just in Observer mode?
In general it would be cool to have a little more insight in why races are doing what (maybe this info is provided and I just cannot find it?).
And a question: Is there ANY way to control more then one ship?
