If you press enter, a chat entry window appears where you can chat with the other people in the game...  Wait a minute...

Something accidentally copy-pasted from AIW?
Or maybe TLF will get social networking capabilities later on?
A feature to send manually written diplomatic messages to the AI, perhaps? ;P

Maybe for entering cheats/dev commands? AIW's text box served this function as well.

Since it says chat, I figure it's for chatting with other players in the future :)
