Okay, so, I was bored, so this happened:

Is that a bit too much?  Don't worry, that's just Hard mode.  For those that have this idea that Hard mode is hard, I present you instead with it's Normal Mode counterpart:

This actually is an early-game boss!   Looks tough?  Not really.  It's pattern is designed to be threatening while at the same time actually being pretty easy (in normal mode).  If I had to gauge these bosses by difficulty, hmm, I'd say that for the early-game (floors 1-2), Backfire is the hardest of them right now.  This guy will be just a little easier than Backfire.  Provided the player understands what they have to do.  Just take it slow against this guy, and you'll be fine.

Yeah, I thought so too, though at this point I'm kinda tired of looking at the stupid thing.  Took too long, bah.

Hopefully that update should be coming soon.  It's ended up being a lot more than just the HP shifting that I'd intended originally. 

I *think* we're going to see some implementation of some new sacrifice room items too here.   More of those would be nice... there's not enough right now.  That bit wont be my doing though.  Cant blame me if that part goes wrong, nope!

I have some more ideas I'm going to post in the next day or so, when I get time to write them up, consider balance, and maybe check to see if they're implementable with the current engine.

Regarding the sacrifice items, I'll start implementing these today. I should be able to get to around 10ish. More ideas are most welcome, though, as a bit more variety would be nice.

I've given hard mode Mirror a bit of a nerf for the next patch.

Yep. That will be appreciated, I'm sure. I had much troubles stepping into the hard difficulty, and I never finished a single hard boss yet. I find the gap very large between normal and hard because on normal, I barely never die. Maybe it's just because Green Envy (my favorite by a laaarge margin) is easier in the latter levels.

I'm definitely looking forward to that next patch!

Yeah, I was "fortunate" enough that Mirror was the first one I ran into first time I played on Hard. There's video evidence of that encounter in this very forum...

I'll point out that it isn't THAT much of a nerf. 

Basically what I did was slow down the fire rate of that purple shot in the second phase; that was a bit too hard to pass through for an early-game boss on that difficulty.

Overall the boss will still be plenty tough and require some practice.  It's not the toughest of the Hard Mode early bosses though, I think.

Okay I also nerfed Staccato because OMG.  How... how did I not notice the problem with that one...

Next thing is to figure out why in the world Labyrinth never shows up.
