I just want to add something important here:

If you get the game and put up a review quickly, be sure to state at the top of the review that your displayed hours does NOT match the actual number of hours you've played because you were playing the beta/alpha/whatever.

Otherwise, people will either think you ignore it, or think you might be with the devs and are just putting up a review because you were asked to.
On top of that, disclosing that you got the game free straight from the devs never hurts. Honesty and all that.

Yes, definitely disclose your involvement and how you got the game. You'll get a lot more credibility if you're honest up front rather than people wondering whether you were paid off.

Hey, what are health shards for? That's not explained anywhere that I can find.

done I've made a review not that it was very professional and was probably terrible but I think I did a good enough job with it.

There's actually a second reason to go after health shards, I'll just point out.

However I wont point out what it is.  That'd be spoilin' indeed.

A review?...I'm bad at those... Eh, maybe inspiration hits me with a frying pan or something :)

Congrats on the launch, though!  8)

Speaking of reviewing....

Normally, I try to always leave one.

But... should I not do that this time since I was involved in development?  That typically seems frowned upon.... even if the individual is being absolutely honest about everything in the review.

But I'll do one if it's actually a good idea to.

It's probably for the best if you don't. Actually making parts of the game means your review is not worth anything to anyone, even if it is honest.

yeap you (as far as I know be mistaken on this) aren't getting any monetary value out of this(which is why its frowned upon in the first place) so I think it'll be fine so long you put a heavy disclaimer on that part in fact it'll probably mean that readers will more willing to take what you say to heart so go ahead and do it.

Yea, if you're going to benefit from the game doing well, I would not review it. For people like us who tested the game, it's not a big deal because we don't see those residuals *wink wink nudge nudge*. So yea, if you actively developed and changed the game, wouldn't post a public review.

Yep, I've been under paid contract this whole time, so that's why I brought that up.
