I think my favorite variant is, "There are two kind of people in the world.  Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data."
And those who are eaten by raptors while they're trying to complete that sentence.

Link?  Link?  :P

You ask me to be brief, I use an appropriate word and then you complain about it being too short.
You ask me to elucidate, I write an 18 page pdf with embedded images, and then you complain about it being too long.

Just for that, I'm writing a simple "2" paragraph email request, and I'm only spell checking twice.

Well, this is more or less what started it.

edit: I should clarify that, despite appearances, that's a serious answer.

edit 2: I would now like to clarify that I linked to entirely the wrong video.  But hey, it's a great movie!

That's the second time today I've seen that clip....

Galaxy Quest. Amazing movie.

Indeed!  Also... not the clip I was trying to paste there.  Ahahahaha.

...whoops.  That had nothing to do with the conversation at all, but I'm glad folks enjoyed it.

Seriously, that movie is amazing though.

Galaxy Quest is awesome.

Imagine a show like Star Trek, except cheesier, only aliens pick up the broadcast, think its a documentary, and go "we're a bunch of spineless wimps and we've been enslaved.  Lets go hire those guys to overthrow these other aliens."  And then built a spaceship based on the complete bullshit and handwavium tech used in the TV show.

As in it works because it worked in the TV show in exactly the same manner.

So they abduct the actors from a sci-fi convention (they literally crash land it in the parking lot because none of them can fly it (the controls were based on the completely arbitrary hand motions one of the actors made up)) and go "here, save the galaxy."

So you get stuff like that sequence for two hours.

It's brilliant.  I'm going to watch it tomorrow.  Again, that is. I've seen it twice.

Now I come back, and I think we've actually achieved anti-sense here. Patch, to Galaxy Quest.  Okay.  Not even going to try to ponder what's going on now.  Here is Maru the cat jumping into a box instead:

There, I have made my amazingly useful contribution to the cause.

Isn't there a rule that says any conversation on the internet must eventually evolve into an exchange of cat GIFs? ;) :D
