Humble boss

Meeting that boss on Hard mode is always a death sentence for me. Third floor encounter this time around, using the Railgun module (+range) I managed to slowly and painfully fight my way to the last phase, only to die a pitiful death.

I would greatly appreciate some tips or hints on how to defeat that boss with a normal range weapon. I want to crush him regardless of my item loadout.

I find it hard to give verbal tips for something like this, so.... instead, here's a video showing the technique I use.

I do have a couple of derp moments in the third phase, but that's what happens when I get impatient.

Obviously though the technique for the first two phases is a sort of slow up and down movement, so as to get away from each "cloud" of bullet spawners as they appear.

In the third phase, well... it's all about reacting.  And sometimes getting BEHIND the arcs when you can.   Take your time and use missiles if you need to.  This pattern is one of those that's designed to make you panic and screw up.  Use slow movements mostly.

I should always keep in mind that I can bait many of those attacks.
That was very helpful, thank you!

I usually launch a bucket of missiles into the drones right off the bat- while you won't take them all out it helps thin the crowd much more quickly. Stage one with all drones present is probably the scariest you will see from that boss.

Granted, I wasn't actually aware that there were three stages- I think every single time I've accidentally skipped stage two. Or maybe not, and I just forgot it.
