Corrupting Power question

So, the Corrupting Power upgrade brings your health down to 1 HP.  Is it also supposed to prevent you from getting additional health after you pick it up?  I just started a new run in version 1.014, and I picked up 6 health shards after getting Corrupting Power.  The screen noted that I got more health, but my health bar stayed at 1 HP.

It works like Risky Assassin right now.  If you find another incredibility, you can swap it for the new one and you'll get all the HP you had back.

Huh, interesting.  Thanks!  I was about to ask how much does it boost your attack power, as it didn't seem to be making a difference for me, but then I realized that it quickly regenerates your energy weapon, effectively giving you infinite ammo.  NICE!
