Floor variation enquiry

I was just wondering what the general plans are for the dungeon/floor style. So far everything is spaceships and machines (understandably!) but is there going to be much variation or theming? Any alien species or organic levels like this, for example?

I think that if you were to start working your way up to the higher levels and things started getting more weird and alien, it'd add a lot of character to the floors.

I'm sure Chris already has tons of things up his sleeve. There is no inter-mission gameplay, and the story is far from told; we have only the few intro lines.

If there's been any talk of this yet, it's probably been mostly just between him and the artist, I'd expect (gotta have some of the environment art ready first after all, I assume).  Havent heard much of anything on this topic myself.
.....unless I did, and just forgot.  That's totally possible.  I've enough trouble remembering what my own blasted monstrosities do.
