.137 Starward Rogue Release
« on: November 24, 2015, 11:57:38 pm »
Hey guys Chris is busy, and I was confused about secret bosses so I'm creating this to clarify.

Thanks for all the feedback so far.  There's a number of things coming, but there had to be a lot of discussion amongst them internally about certain things and how best to proceed with them.

Things in this release
1. New graphics system which requires a new installer, check your email.
2. Lots of new graphic options
3. Loads of new enemies including 2 new hard bosses that will show up only level 4 or later.
4. They know the controls are still floaty, its a work in progress.
5. Next wave of testers has been introduced, check your email.
6. Full release notes are at: https://www.arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=Starward_Rogue:Early_Alpha_Release_Notes

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I was confused because I didn't check my email and hopefully Chris thinks this is funny.

Thanks!
Ptarth

I doubt he'll at all mind you posting this.  As I understand it he's got alot on his plate right now, many different things to deal with all at once.
Looks like this update has come out well though. I'll be trying it out myself soon here.  You'd think I would have already but my last few sessions with the game were all about yelling at the screen because of things not working due to me leaving typos in there.   I really hate typos now.

I think the update plays well and looks great.  The game is really headed in a good direction graphically.  Sounds though, I know it's a WIP but errrr!!!  I'll complain more loudly once those are more in place.

Syntax Error: Does Not Compute

When I was programming for school I would use a text editor like MS Word to write blocks of code out.  Copy/Paste and compile (and test).  Maybe that would help you out a bit.

Opened your save. My computer wept. Switched to the ST planet and ship icons filled my screen, so I zoomed out. Game told me that it _was_ totally zoomed out. You could seriously walk from one end of the inner grav well to the other without getting your feet cold.

I'm using Visual Studio, actually.  For the most part, it's very good at catching errors, but there seems to be certain very specific types that it cant quite grasp.

Well, after trying out the new version as opposed to just fighting 2 specific bosses over and over and over and over, this really does look good!

And it looks like the size modifiers for bullets are in now.  I can do some funky things with this.

Upcoming from me:   Some new enemies that I'm going to write up today, a few alterations to old enemies that have been bothering me for awhile, and a special boss that I've named "Labyrinth".  Good luck figuring out what THAT does.  That isnt likely to appear in the next update.  It's going to take awhile.

I've no idea when the next update will be out though.

Also this new text editor in the forum here is very.... strange.  And buggy.

I'm surprised. Thanksgiving is on Thursday; did he decide to start early? :P

It's very similar to the one I use on my forum. Some weird deja vu for me since my site defaults to a light theme.
