There are things there with percentages of initial infected that definitely need to be looked at, I think there is either a bug there or a design issue.
That's what I want. If the initial outbreaks weren't so extreme the entire system would be fine.

I also think DC employment numbers need to come down, it takes more people to staff it than the Superweapon. While it's certainly true that diseases are more dangerous than other civs I think the numbers are out of whack.

Completely agreed.  Can you put up a note on mantis so I don't forget?

Thanks!  Turns out I'm working a bit tonight after all, so I went ahead and did it, heh.

A small step for game balance, a giant leap for redshirt survival rates!

Hahaha. :D

And this:

* Initial disease infection amounts (as a percentage of your population) are now generally much lower than they were before, particularly when you are contracting diseases through ground combat fighting.
** That said, the infection percent from Evucks is now actually higher -- slightly.
** This emphasizes just how nasty it is from the Evucks, and beyond that it's not remotely such a terrible thing to have happen to you out of the blue.

SBR forum's sub-text still says "Our upcoming 4x title (May 2015)."
I just wanted to let you know.

I've been slow on getting the blueshirts in because I don't want to wear any one group out too much, and it can be fairly intensive for those who are really on mantis a lot and going through lots of versions, heh.  But tons of progress towards the blueshirts stage!

Just a quick note: In another thread you were asking if we could think of anything that might be a hindrance to the release date when it was still early June (probably thinking about Diablo 3 launch a while back).

Well, if you push it to July, I would be concerned about the Steam Summer Sale coming up. There are rumours floating around, but as far as I know only Valve knows when it will be and will not announce it that much in advance.

During Summer Sale the whole Steam pages will be full of AAA titles with massive discounts in a way that new releases will probably just get drowned. And after the sale I am afraid many people (if they are like me) spent more money than they intended and will probably not be willing to "impulse-buy" a game cruising by.

Just saying - a release early July might be feasible, but I would be careful in pushing it more than that.

That said, I am definitely looking forward to this one, I love 4X games and I am really excited to see what you will make of it. Since I have very little time at the moment, I'll skip Beta this time and buy it when it's done. :-)

Cheers,
Ipkins

Cheers!  Thanks for the heads up on that, it's a good thought for sure.
