I think I'll sign up as well. I have got free time for the rest of the week, but not on the weekend. After that I should have enough time all week (without any unforeseen circumstances happening). So any color/wave you want to assign me to is fine by me.

I don't know how much of a problem my compulsive must-read-every-post-so-far behaviour is for my first impression, though. If it's a problem, just tell me to stop reading SBR posts and/or put me in on a later date or not at all. Whichever you think is best :)

Oh, I can also test SBR on my Linux machine, if that's any help (got to install Steam, but that should work, I hope...Is it possible (i.e. allowed) to use one Steam account on two systems?)

It's all good, having some people who are reading compulsively is not a problem at all.  It takes all kinds, as they say.  Some people abstain completely, some binge, some read bits and pieces, and that's fine with me.  Given what you've said, and looking at my current roster of folks, I'd like to add you in one of the waves after the blueshirts if that's okay with you.  Since your enthusiasm is high, and your knowledge, it feels right to me to put you into one of the later waves.  That would still give you a month, month and a half of time to be in there prior to release, so you'd definitely still be making an impact!

Oh, I can also test SBR on my Linux machine, if that's any help (got to install Steam, but that should work, I hope...Is it possible (i.e. allowed) to use one Steam account on two systems?)

Sweet, sounds good!  We have a variety of folks on linux, but more is always good.  You are absolutely allowed to install steam on as many machines as you want, but only one can be logged in at a given time to your account.  Personally I have my steam account on three different machines (one a virtualized linux box on my mac), and the only thing that happens is when you log in with one machine, it tends to kick you on the others.  I think?  I may be remembering too far back.  Anyway, it won't let you play a given game on more than one machine on the same account at once, and that's the only real caveat.  But Valve are really big on letting you play on whatever machines you want to, which is part of the deal with their "cloud saves" stuff, which lets your settings and savegames transfer from one machine to another.  Pretty handy!

What you can do and is a bit simpler is give yourself rights to access your account from another account.

http://store.steampowered.com/promotion/familysharing

That way I can play all my games on my wife's computer and she can play on mine. Saves and achievements are not transferred, but I think it's a good point actually. If you do that you can be logged at both place, but the "shared" account is kicked five minutes after the "main" account starts playing something.

Ok, thanks! After the blueshirts sounds fine :) And thanks for the info about using Steam on two systems.

@kasnavada: Thanks, but that shouldn't be necessary, as it's one machine where I dual-boot, so I can't stay logged in anyway :)

Hey! Hope I'm not late to the party. I would love to beta test with the blueshirts if possible. If not, I'm fine whenever. Best of luck!

Hi, I'd love to be in the beta. The game looks very interesting and I have great respect for Arcen for always developing very unique games. I played  mostly AI War and TLF and enjoyed both greatly. Looking forward to your next game!

Not too late at all!  I've got you marked down for the blueshirts. :)

Added you to the list!

Hello!
I'm a really big fan of Arcen, and have put an unhealthy amount of hours into AI War alone. I remember helping out testing the first AVWW through the mantis bug tracker way back when, and am interested in breaking beta testing Stars Beyond Reach as best I can.  :)
I have quite a bit of free time until the end of the month. If I am accepted, I do not have any preference when it comes to my shirt color, so long as it doesn't have too many coffee stains.

I would love to get into the beta at any point that slots are available. I am an experienced beta tester and suddenly have a ton of time on my hands...Either way, this game is a day one purchase for me. Keep pushing the boundaries and I will keep supporting you guys. Cheers! :)

Awesome, welcome back!  I'm marking you as a blueshirt so that we can definitely get you in place for as long as possible prior to the end of the month -- that way you're not jammed up against your end-of-free-time deadline.

Brown pants it is! ;)  Just kidding -- I have you marked down for one of the general post-blueshirt waves.  You're not too late at all!

I've got you added in as well as a post-blueshirt!  We'll have a lot of waves in that period, and I'll probably aim to get you in sooner than later after the blueshirts.  Thanks!

Hey Chris,

I'd love to be a part of the beta if you want more testing done. I've been following Stars for a while and am super interested.
I was madly addicted to Skyward Collapse  while back and produced a few bug reports there and still frequent the steam forum for it xD

Keep up the awesome work!
P.S - I'm kind of hooked on ArcenGames's... attitude? to making/supporting games. When I posted a bug for Skyward, you replied like within
an hour and there was a steam patch like 30 minutes later. It just blew me away. So I always want to help you out with whatever I can.

I hope I'm not too late to the party too. :(

I've never beta tested a arcen game, but I've seen a lot of development news about this game in particular and I'm so interested on the new take on the genre. I played AI war and The last federation, and more than everything else, I've been very intrigued by the way you take a genre and manage to twist and shout it :D

Hope I can be of help ;)
