I think I'll sign up as well. I have got free time for the rest of the week, but not on the weekend. After that I should have enough time all week (without any unforeseen circumstances happening). So any color/wave you want to assign me to is fine by me.
I don't know how much of a problem my compulsive must-read-every-post-so-far behaviour is for my first impression, though. If it's a problem, just tell me to stop reading SBR posts and/or put me in on a later date or not at all. Whichever you think is best
It's all good, having some people who are reading compulsively is not a problem at all. It takes all kinds, as they say. Some people abstain completely, some binge, some read bits and pieces, and that's fine with me. Given what you've said, and looking at my current roster of folks, I'd like to add you in one of the waves after the blueshirts if that's okay with you. Since your enthusiasm is high, and your knowledge, it feels right to me to put you into one of the later waves. That would still give you a month, month and a half of time to be in there prior to release, so you'd definitely still be making an impact!
Oh, I can also test SBR on my Linux machine, if that's any help (got to install Steam, but that should work, I hope...Is it possible (i.e. allowed) to use one Steam account on two systems?)
Sweet, sounds good! We have a variety of folks on linux, but more is always good. You are absolutely allowed to install steam on as many machines as you want, but only one can be logged in at a given time to your account. Personally I have my steam account on three different machines (one a virtualized linux box on my mac), and the only thing that happens is when you log in with one machine, it tends to kick you on the others. I think? I may be remembering too far back. Anyway, it won't let you play a given game on more than one machine on the same account at once, and that's the only real caveat. But Valve are really big on letting you play on whatever machines you want to, which is part of the deal with their "cloud saves" stuff, which lets your settings and savegames transfer from one machine to another. Pretty handy!
