So, my grandfather passed away yesterday afternoon.  He was almost 96 and in declining health, so this was not a huge surprise, but we thought he still had weeks at least.  So still a bit of a shock.

My uncle, who was the closest thing I had to a grandfather for most of my life, passed away a week earlier in much the same circumstances.

Thanks again for all your condolences, thoughts, and prayers everybody.  And jerith, I'm really sorry to hear about your loss as well. 

The funeral on Friday was good.  It was cathartic in the way funerals are supposed to be, although I still haven't really fully processed this whole thing.  Anyhow, for now I'm focusing on work and family.
