Shrines & Earthly Love

In my current game I'm spamming shrines to stop the planet from hating me. Is there any other way of doing this (besides not getting the planet to hate you in the first place)?

As far as the game goes it works fine, but it feels like it shouldn't - it's as if I'm saying 'I'm sorry! I really mean it this time!', and getting believed even though I've just terraformed a whole load more land.

Although I suppose there's no reason to assume that the planets way of thinking will make any sense.

Instead of spamming shrines, you can encircle some shrine-enhancing wonder, then encircle that with public parks. More space-efficient, and you'll never need to worry about that aspect of the game again.

Or just get a lot of culture and buy one those upgrades.

This aspect of the game is going to be changing a lot in the upcoming weeks, because I'm not happy with how it plays out right now.  I never have been, but until lately I hadn't really come up with a better way of doing it.  The next version takes a few baby steps on this particular path, but the bulk of this next one is focused on the top toolbar in other ways, and on territories.

I am running through things still at the moment, but it looks like it might be playable enough for a release within the next 5 hours.  I might run into something showstopping in terms of a quicker release, but based on the work Keith did yesterday, the AI has been handling the new rules surprisingly well.  It will still need some retraining after this new version to make it really handle territory capture properly, but it's doing a reasonable job as it is. :)

Well, it's not going to be tonight; I ran into some mapgen bugs that took me about 2 hours to sort out, so that set me back.  I need to eat and get some rest, but the list of things for tomorrow is pretty short.  Mainly it's to do with positioning logic, and a few remaining districts things.

well clearly one of us has  a very strange sense of the passing of time you posted this a few hours ago and there's no patch realise (or you know the game decided to be a pain in the ass to you which is always possible)
