Hi there guys!

Thanks for all the feedback. :D

I would love an easy way to identify my various building types. Possibly via an overlay/report.

Hi Tbrass, this is a bit more of a design thing. If you could plop this idea into Mantis for us, that would help immensely!

Plopped. (such a delightful word)

Did someone suggest icons for poetry, broadcasts, inventions, etc?

IE, the Philosopharium produces philosophies.  Those should have an icon, and anything which boosts the production of philosophies should say it boosts that icon by 2.0X or whatever.

Right now it's kinda unclear which buildings do what kind of writing in some cases.

dont know if blues still taking feed back from this topic  but regardless i have two things of mind one which has been bugging me for a good long while and the other which is pretty trivial and dosent really matter the first is the wording of the evuks disease resistance the fact that it says it increases the infectivity of diseases you catch bugs me i know that the mathematics say it decreases the infectivity but that's the thing(granted its been awhile since i played since i last played as the evuks so ill have to re check  any way) so there you go. the 2nd dosent really matter at all I'm just mentioning it here for prudence's sake the passivity syrium(i think? can't remember for sure) the only thing i find strange about that is that it seems to do the exact opposite than what the name implies (make your race more violent rather than make it more peaceful) like i said very trivial.

  • I'm probably joking.

That's GUI text rather than Art. It's more Chris's mantis province.
Note: This post contains content that is meant to be whimsical. Any belittlement or trivialization of complex issues is only intended to lighten the mood and does not reflect upon the merit of those positions.

fair enough I wasn't sure so I decided to post it here but though about mantis the first issue I mentioned(the one that actually matters to me) I reported that issue I had on mantis many many many many patches ago and it just seems to have either been ignored to focus on more important things or forgotten.(probably a bit of both realy)

To me, the text on the title screen is too fuzzy, and not sharp and clear.  I'm not sure if it's the white on blue edging effect of the text, but it just appears to be out of focus to me.

I have a series of remarks about the graphics themselves.

"Incoherent" graphic style

The main screen and the steam icon look very "metallic", streamlined, futuristic and so on. The main screen has "electronic" thingies moving around. Same, the backgrounds on the menus are "spirally" and futuristic. It looks likes it's been rendered on a computer on 3D.

Basically the "first" icons I see of the game evoke fighting robots, metal shields, mech parts and tanks melting under lazors while planes explode all around. The main game screen feel like a somewhat "retro" games trying to portrait the future. It's very good "pixel art" style, very detailled and obviously handcrafted with care, but 2.5D, don't have a "metallic" feel at all.

Both "styles" are very pretty taken individually. I like the art. But mixing it does not "work", at least not for me. If I base my opinion on the "main" steam icon and find out that the content of the game is handcrafted pixel art, I'd be disappointed. Also, it makes the main game screen very "tame".

I don't really know how to explain that any better.

MOAR ICONS

I spoke about it in the other thread but yes, there are loads of text in this game. I don't know if they're all done already but placing and suggesting icons for descriptions and explanations would be good.

Icons for races in the main menu would be awesome.

Text

The main font is the generic Arcen font. For titles it looks old. Basically same remark as the graphics. It's very pretty but it's a mix between "old" style and "futuristic" style. It's a game about crashing on a colony and getting to space back, and also fighting with LAZORZ.
