I made a lot of proposal in the other thread, here I'll speak about what I think of the game flow and choices given in game.
First of all... The game feels claustrophobic.
I spent 200 turns waiting in a small part of the map. I tried some stuff to try to move away but after 200 turns and many researches I still have no idea what to look for, which technology / building will FINALLY allow me to leave my lander. I met Neinzuls which completely ignored me, and Andors, which I've been launching missiles at for about 70 turns (91 destroyed buildings and counting).
I've beaten them. But I can't speak to them. I can't move toward them. I can't conquer them. I'm at turn 200.
Disease and crime and so on. Balancing all resources.
Ok... Disease might just "not" drive your economy into the ground now but... with 6000 population... I can't get rid of it with 8 hospitals. Balancing your resources is going to be complicated. Getting the "right" amount of police, population, money, buidling possibilities... The game flow was kind of nice until I had to build everything on jungles. Am I unlucky about that part ? I've gotten 2 maps where I'm landing in jungles. It takes ages to build anything.
There are many buildings in this game and I've barely scratched the research tree. As stated in my other thread the "buidling" bar needs more love. I'm constantly looking for where stuff is.
Also, some things that you can do just drive you into the ground. For example it's impossible in my save game to protect my fisheries from crime. Because I placed them too far from the edge of the land. Could you add some guard coasts with police effect =) ?
Military actions
I'm feeling like I want to automate them. Maybe it gets better later when you can actually move stuff.
Global notes
I know that Chris and the others are working on it, but the game is currently very lacking in the "player feedback" aspect. To me it's a priority compared to adding "new" parts in the game.
Second point, there seems to be a lot of "mini-games": temperature, atmosphere, military, diplomatic victory, espionnage victory, "rogue" elements, disease mini-game, crime reduction, pollution reduction, international incidents mini-game, diplomacy, adjency bonus placement... I'm begining to wonder if it's not too much to keep track of. Currently I'm willingly "forgetting" some aspect but that's sure to come and bite me later. And there is no espionnage yet. I'm not sure about that part yet, I'd have to play more to see where it's going. Currently, as a new players, there are lots of interconnected aspects and it's rather confusing. Maybe lower diff level could have the "option" to ignore some of those ? Like terraforming and temperature ?
