How to stop auto-attacking a race?
« on: June 27, 2015, 06:01:15 am »
In my current game I had the problem that the Thoraxians built a few buildings beneath my territory, so I blasted them with my barracks. Naturally that led to slightly negative attitude values. Not amused with that I wanted to improve relations a bit (or at least stop provoking them more), but my barracks kept auto-attacking the Thoraxian buildings in the neighboring territory, so the attitude value kept plummeting, getting the Thoraxians more and more pissed off. Is there a way to stop that (short of disabling the barracks, I might need them for other things), something like ending the war? Or is that something that the inclusion of proper diplomacy will fix?

By the way: What do Sonar mapping stations do?

I think there is no way at the moment. I already reported this on mantis. although in my games my buildings stopped attacking after a while - maybe you can omitted attacking in the meantime by disabling the respective buildings for a few turns?

I tried that, but it didn't work. They started attacking again on their own, I think. It's possible that I might have blasted some more underground buidings afterwards, though...

Ok, if there's no way to do this at the moment, that's fine. I just thought I was missing something. Thanks.

Sonar Mapping provides persistent sonar scouting in a certain radius btw.

ceasefires are meant to be thing there kind of rubbish though the most I've even been able to enact is a single turn(and not even between me and him at that) granted though diplomacy is probably going to change a metric ton and from what I've read it sounds like ceasefires might not end up being a thing at all eventually.(if you get what I mean)
