Seems to be going fine on my end, though the upgrade trees are still my biggest issue.

Also:  I have no idea what a civic center does.  It never seems usable, I cant place it anywhere at all.

EDIT:  Okay, things still go out of control WAY too fast.  Way, way, WAY too fast.  It's not just diseases:  It's EVERYTHING.  It all happens in the space of ONE turn, whatever "it" happens to be (crime, currently), and all numbers instantly go completely berserk.  It seems like something in the simulation is *really* off.  The only solution is to save very, very frequently right now.

Okay, I have been able to place a civic center.  I have no idea WHY.  It gives me a new city.... which is directly attached to my main one.   ....I'm not seeing the point here.  What is this supposed to do?  Right now it's just confusing.  I could have just expanded the city further with, I dunno, 3 farms or something.  I cant seem to demolish it either.

Also:  the "early game" seems to stretch until forever, I'm noticing.  I'm 120 turns in, and aside from the crimesplosion (which I thwarted), nothing's HAPPENED yet.  The total inability to interact with most of the map is not being a good thing right now... I'm still questioning the whole "no units" idea at this point. I have a feeling that another 100 turns in, and I'm still going to be saying "nothing's happened yet".

Creating a new city - Place an Air Cargo Bay or Helipad (or possibly a teleporter) where you want your new city. You can then place the civic center next to it.

Crime Explosion - The big problem with crime seems to be Crimes of Opportunity. When you have building that are uncovered by police, they will jump to huge levels of crime if the crime ever becomes positive. So keep everything under a police aura (parks may possibly work) and cover the Stock Exchanges, International Banks, Air Cargo Bays, and other large crime buildings with multiple riot police. I don't like the balance for it myself, but you can get around it.

Early Game - Perhaps you aren't expanding rapidly enough? I find that building as many banks as possible really helps. I also think that we need to get complete linguistic access to 1 or 2 races at the very start would go a long way towards something. Right now the game does feel a lot like SimCity and Skyward Collapse.

Okay, the helipad thing kinda makes sense... but as far as I know, I can only attach that to my already existing city, which still creates the pointless idea of having 2 cities smashed together that are only actually one city really.... agh, doesnt make sense to me.  Not going to use it for now.  Cant remove the one I did place though, feh.

As for expansion, as far as I can tell I'm expanding fast enough, but there just isnt anything around.  There's one of those really half-assed cities nearby, the sort where they've got like, 8 buildings and maybe a resource gatherer, but that never expands or... does anything at all.   And there just isnt anything else.  So right now, not just is there nothing happening, there's nothing to go towards.   Well, resources, a few of them, but they're all way beyond my reach; I'd have to draw a big stupid line of buildings to get within range of most of them.  And no diplomacy since the linguistics takes so long.

Linguistics takes WAY too long.
You can drop helipads and Cargo Bays at the range of your transport range. So you need to have an air transport range first, then drop away.
I haven't found any use for secondary cities except to cause me massive problems.
I've found that expansion isn't important for other cities. It so that my city gets bigger. Currently I'm hemmed in on all sides  by the other races. I don't want to blow them up because I'm a peaceful trading player, so I'm working around that now. If you are curious check out my save. Or post your own for me to have a look at try to get a feel at what you are doing.

my problem is still the fact that the zenith don't act at all like their race should in my current peltian game I've got into yet enougher fight with them and because I cant get my missiles down(despite having something like 8 or 9 guard posts together around were I want them) so at the moment I'm just surviving because I'm building at the same rate that they can wreck my shit.

The patch notes for .801 are looking pretty good already. I'm really excited about the AI code fix.

Has anyone seen the AI expand to additional cities? Has Chris told us that they don't (I missed the memo if so)?

I have seen very little of that particular X from the 4X design.

They do. I have three Acutian Cities going right now. However, the growth was glitched in .800, so...

man I really need to take a look at the wiki I've been kind of forgetting also judging by the next patch list Chris should be finished counting his gold bars by tomorrow and be ready to release the patch.

I'm guessing Chris, Keith, and the rest of the gang are over 8251 Stress Points right now. I wonder if Chris remembered to get beta keys from steam.
