Chris posted last week that things would slow down for a bit. Worry is a bit premature.

You have the beta, so why don't you tell us what you've been up to?

:)  Would love to hear how it is going.  :)  What do you think of the game so far? Is it a lot like Alpha Centauri? Or is that really not a good example, someone said it reminded them of SimCity with guns, haha, that sounds interesting.  :)

well at the moment I've been trying out the different races so far I would have to say my favourite are the peltians they have some pretty intresting social policys including one which gives you trading currency for having excesses  crops.(on a side note for some reason the one race I've been encountering is the zenith who for some strange decide to go kick my ass every time and also the andors as well)

sounds like you have your hands full.  i know you said you like the peltians, but have you thought of the zenith? if they are the ones kicking, maybe it would be good to be them? Or are they one of the ai races?
ahhhh... guess it will take awhile to figure out good counter strategies huh? anyway, hope it gets better. next version will probably make things better, less bugs and better balance.  Thanks for going in as a redshirt, we will remember you and put flowers on your grave. CR died bravely in pursuit of a better 4X game. :)

Just teasing,

funny thing is I've played as the zenith before I played as the peltians in fact that was the one time me and the andors had fist cuffs and I was kicking their but then I think I got that pollution nuke out of no were I mentioned on enougher topic some were the other times were mainly due to my silly ness like assuming the little flying dudes are helicopters and not putting a guard post down apart from the one time I couldn't attack due to a weird bug that seems to have pissed of now. ps weird thing is the one race I've encountered that hasn't immediately tried to violate me completely were the acutions pps yea hopefully the new gui will bring some more tolitips it would be nice to have them instead of guessing at things all the time.

Maybe the Acutians thought keeping you alive was the better buisness (trading partner)?

maybe maybe not but its still strange in contrast to how the zenith are meant to be easy going and laid back and yet they always go for my throat.

I think the AI in general needs a lot of tweaking. Especially a lot more individualism. This may change with new features but currently all races react more or less the same.
If you build to close they shoot your buildings. They expand a lot in a linear way and they try to grab every resource in reach.
Odd enough, the Thoraxians who are meant to be a very dangerous race ignored me even when I knocked directly at their door. i even was crazy anough and kicked that door down (destroyed buildoibngs from them) and they still ignored me. Until I started research in transedence. That's when they went all out on me and run over me. Holy shit, I never saw such a big military throw in this game until this. When I gave up almost my whole city was destroyed and they only stopped because another race that I couldn't see tried to attack the Thoraxians, shifting the attention of teh Thoraxians to another point.

I excpet Thoraxians more aggressive. But maybe they are intended to be like a bee nest. Mostly harmless until you decide to shake the damn thing and angering all bees inside.

personally the thoraxians never struck me as very aggressive more heavily opertunatistic in tlf I never really had cases were they go ham on other races although that might have been more because I was keeping them on a lease one time were I went observer mode and fast forwarded the game for shits and giggles they had established a fear empire so take what you will from that.

and yes I agree 100 percent encountering the zenith at the moment feels like a death threat because of their power house tech and buildings if my city hasn't grown strong enough to set up war buildings promptly. (don't know about the others zenith are the only race I've warred with so far apart from the andors but I would have kicked their ass if it wasn't for the pollution nuking that was a thing in fact if these guys were true andors they would have declared a ceasefire immediately and set up a charity fund to help me)

Is interception working for you guys? I'm not sure if my guys aren't responding, or if they are land/air and I'm defending with air/land.
