Good news, Everybody - SBR works in Win10
« on: May 28, 2015, 04:09:51 am »
I just installed the developers preview for Win10 & am happy to report that SBR runs just fine on my rig. Now if only I could get dual booting to do the same ;-)

As an aside to this aside, it is so nice to see a version of windows that works again. Innovative, yet building on established protocols. Smooth. Significantly less demand for touch interfacing.

Still a big beast - no E/Wayland is this, but so much better in every respect than Win(h)8.

The real question is this:  Does it work on XP?  :P

No. Because you'd need to connect XP up to steam to download it. And once you did that, your computer would be a stinking morass of malware and virii.

As an aside, win10 is the first windows since xp that I have genuinely appreciated using.

As someone who has had the displeasure of fixing and repairing family and friend computers (and I had to put a stop to that!), I can tell you that it doesn't matter what windows operating system- people will find a way to screw it up. Everything from that free weather widget you saw online to free smiley faces to free screensavers… people can be really ignorant!

.840 worked fine on XP. Haven't tested the newer ones.

Wait, Win10? What happened to 9? Or did I miss something?

Ancient programs detect for windows 9 to mean 95/98. So we get Win10 instead.
