My first impressions and struggles
« on: May 05, 2015, 12:23:53 pm »
I want to bring up the points that I encountered when playing the game in order that they occured in, not in order of severity.

-Confused about no sound or music in main menu
-Also slightly confused about the background image, as it looks like clickable menu
-Went to Quick start, looks familiar
-Tutorial missing I assume, cannot change the option of the three buttons
-Confused about camps, ctrl clicking the button was the way to read on why I should use them. Explaining Ctrl as a vital tool will probably be in the tutorial.
-Tech tree is nice, might benefit from being zoomed in more to have clearer icons, even if that means vertical scrolling. Not sure
-So much unexplained complexity, all funneled through a tech tree to make it a bit easier at the start feels a bit better than TLF to me
-End turn on space would be nice, unless that is used for something else
-Detailed view of buildings still triggers "anxiety" of "so much information, what to do with all that" :D I would somehow like it if visual icons would link them to other locations for easier recognition. The resources in the main view does this very well
-Wishing for some way to easily see what influences a resource and how in the tooltip (for example population is explained how, but doesn't show the actual influences and why it is capped)

Stopped and restarted at this point, because I built too much farms and water and housing and wondering why my pop limit didn't go up. I Needed cooking places.  :-[

1 I'm pretty sure the sound/music is meant to be added sooner or later its not a bug

2 I've never had that issue personally cant really comment

3 never tried quick no comment

4 yea probably

5 presumably your going to be able to change things like that in the key bindings in the future so not much point really in putting that button use in the tutorial

6 personally I like it more the way it is having to vertical scroll would just be fiddly

7 personally I got used to it without to much trouble but that's just me really.

8 cant argue with that I is rather confusing at the moment
ps you didn't need to restart your lander produces cash per turn by it self.
