Anomalous income
« on: June 16, 2015, 09:49:16 pm »
Is there a way to view a breakdown of where income is coming from? Because one turn I had a resonable income of about 90,000, and then next it jumped to 716,039. Could this relate to the international bank, which generates mysterious debt points? I've had the bank for a few turns but perhaps some threshold of debt points was just reached this turn?

Basicaly, is this supposed to happen under some conditions or is it a bug?

I have identified the source of the additional income. Turns out a factory surrounded by 8 other factories gets a 481.89x bonus to crowns, and ends up producing ~400,000 crowns individually. Is this intentional behavior, as it dwarfs the income I get from all other sources combined! And iirc, factories are available from the beginning of the game, so if I had realized their potential earlier I probably wouldn't have bothered with any of the other income generating buildings at all.

Huh. I thought it was meant to work this way, since the changelog mentioned that factories were meant to be the big money-makers now.

...I guess my multi-million income was a *bit* high.

Didn't factories used to not be placeable adjacent to each other?

If it was, it was before I was included.

:P

Most "starting" building and even banks and similar stuff give money in the hundreds / thousands, so yes... 400 000 / building is way to high. Actually, I think that 10 000 / turn is already very high (if a single building / action can reach that I think it's in need of a nerf).

As far as "corrections" are concerned, I think factories should not boost each other in any case - IMO factories transform resources, they don't build stuff in closed circuit for infinite income. Not being adjacent may work, as would lowering their multiplicative bonus.

Factories boost Industry related crown income by 2.8

You also need 14k pop to get that from just one factory.

You can cut out one factory and use a mine, or theoretically any high-crown-value industrial building as the centerpiece. It may only add up to 200k rather than 400k, but that's still enough to win the game.

Also, I noticed this bug just after I noticed that I can sell off military products and such for a good amount of money, which requires the manufacturing points from factories to do. I guess this is what they meant by making factories the big money maker, as if you can get a few good quality inventions you can make a lot of money. Not the unwholesome amount of money generated by factories currently, but it could have become the majority of my income if I had pursued it further.

I don't. When you have income in the multiple hundreds of thousands, you're bound to win pretty quickly in any way you like.
