Why is not there any amphibic races?

Oh, that's easy - there's no way for them to survive the g-forces necessary for space combat.

Hmmm... or perhaps that's backwards ;-)

Good question!

Why is not there any amphibic races?

I think the Krolin are supposed to be amphibious. The Yali are aquatic. The Spire are made out of rock and probably don't care if they're surrounded by air, water, or hard vacuum.

My question: Is there any connection between the Spire and the Ilari?

I'm sorry but I've never heard of the ilari?  personally among the billion questions I've asked is are the yali related to the hydrals to me I think their are to many similarity's for them not to be.

Ilari Stones are floating rocks in Valley 1 that heal you, give you advice, and sometimes just hang around to watch you die. Very mysterious, but indispensable when they deign to assist humanity.

Huh, I never thpught about a connection between teh Spire and Ilari but know that you mention it...
Maybe the Ilari are a faction of the Spire? Like the Grey Spire or Dark Spire.
Or maybe they are the descendants of the Spire (Valley without Wind seems to be in a very distand future but how sure can you be about it in a game where time is shattered).
Nice catch.

1 there's factions of the spire? I assumed seeing as how their trying to fight for survival against the ai that they'd band together 2 time is shattered in that?! now I'm very intrigued.

I had a couple of questions for this thread:
1. This might not be answered because it might come with spoilers, but which ending of TLF is canon leading into SBR?
2. in a similar vein, did the AI destroy all the humans in the SBR timeline, or did the humans conquer the AI?
3. Kind of going back into TLF itself, but I was wondering if the Acutians and the Andors had any common ancestry, or perhaps were created by the same species, or if they just developed completely seperately.
4. Obviously the aliens from Tale of Woe won't be in the game (or perhaps they will in a future DLC  ;D) but I wanted to know what their official name or the name you use for them is.
5. The minimum planetary compatability in TLF was 0.1, did the races use the same sort of rebreathers then that they use in SBR when the compatability was that low?
If absence makes the heart grow fonder, what does presence make?

1 as Chris has said to me sbr is meant to be so far in the future from the events of tlf that the races involved can remember f all about  it the ending that's officially cannon though? that's up for Chris to answer really
2 that interests me as well I really hope sbr will give information/hints to their origins
3 I wouldn't imagine so considering how far in the future sbr is meant to be I would find it very strange if that was case.

hey here's a fun fact that those of us who weren't the first wave of testers won't know in the first testing version of this game the default profile name(I think there's something like that when you first start up the game but honestly its been so long now that I might be wrong) was the hydral rather than the benevolent dictator so who knows he might just be hiding some were in the game.

Impossible, Chris said no Hydrals in this game. Also this was more likely a Bug because Arcen Games copies a lot of it's code from older games (check it out yourself, you can find codes from TFL, Bionic Dues and other games that do however not work in this game), so this was most likely copied from TLF because this was the last game before this.

just because he said there weren't any doesn't make it impossible he may be just trying to mislead us but any alas there's not much point speculating on that while the game is in its current state.

That was a bug. The profile creation pane was imported wholesale from TLF, including its default name.

It's may well be too late for posting these to be meaningful, but:

What was the task outside the galaxy that was occupying the AIs' attentions in AIW? (unless this is answered somewhere in AIW I haven't found)
