I have to admit, that based on the relatively little information we've received about both of Arcen's upcoming new games, I have to say that I am VASTLY more excited about this one.
The combination of genres listed has the potential to be something fantastic, innovative, and fun. I've always been a fan of online strategy boardgames, unfortunately the genre is extremely small, and much of it is polluted with microtransaction models which I despise.
The last "board-like" puzzle game I purchased was a $10 minigame (adapted originally from gameboy) called
Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes, which Steam says I have clocked 326 hours on. Pretty impressive when you consider how little content there is, and how unbalanced it was (the balance concerns were never addressed
).
A game like this made by Arcen would likely have 10x the replay value, and a much better balance system, as well as constant updates if successful. The Co-op mode is also an extremely exciting feature. I hope the AI is made difficult enough to encompass all skills of player, and keep us busy for a long time
Super excited, keep us informed!
