Yea, if you want to get more info out of Chris on a game he's making, just act like you think he's going the puzzle-game direction ;)

That's pretty funny!

Though I can go ahead and confirm that this is in no way a puzzle game in any form.  It's a turn-based strategy game meets god game meets simulation game.  Meets digital board game.  It does involve tile placement, but not in a puzzle sense.
...meets board game? The firs three I can see going together, the last one sounds like Arcen is up to something  ;D

Sounds awesome! Will it be multiplayer? Co-op? Can't wait to hear more!

Co-op and PVP both.  Two player only in both cases, but yeah. :)

Listening to it being two players, I'm now imagining a board game. Maybe not as straightforward as chess or checkers, but so far that is what I think via game layout.
Life is short. Have fun.

Yep, that's a large part of it.  But it's a boardgame that is alive. :)

Well, being a god game does influence world shattering things, like altering the board  ;)

And the world goes into cataclysm as player 2 loses his temper, upends the board, and stomps away in a huff ;)

Is that what happened with Environ?

Spoiler: this is just a Monopoly clone.  That game always ends in cataclysm. ;)

I wonder how much Bacon is produced by a Park Place tile.

Also it's a good source of diamonds and moonstone. ;)

I have to admit, that based on the relatively little information we've received about both of Arcen's upcoming new games, I have to say that I am VASTLY more excited about this one.

The combination of genres listed has the potential to be something fantastic, innovative, and fun. I've always been a fan of online strategy boardgames, unfortunately the genre is extremely small, and much of it is polluted with microtransaction models which I despise.

The last "board-like" puzzle game I purchased was a $10 minigame (adapted originally from gameboy) called Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes, which Steam says I have clocked 326 hours on. Pretty impressive when you consider how little content there is, and how unbalanced it was (the balance concerns were never addressed :().

A game like this made by Arcen would likely have 10x the replay value, and a much better balance system, as well as constant updates if successful.  The Co-op mode is also an extremely exciting feature. I hope the AI is made difficult enough to encompass all skills of player, and keep us busy for a long time :D

Super excited, keep us informed!
