Can any of the alpha testers think of a good way to counter this cerebus cheese?

Well Countering it isn't so much difficult, as why would you want to? Given the structure of the game, you have no reason to want to kill the Cerberus'. Mass Cerberus is good for both sides. Stops blue units from moving around killing red buildings, block red units from killing blue buildings, while a whole bunch of red units suicide into blue. (I can't remember the names of each side, Blue has Cerberus, Red did not).

Though if you did want to kill them, their high HP, no ranged damage, and insane attack, does make them difficult to fight. I think the only way they were getting killed was splash damage from catapults, though if I was trying to use the strategy abusively, I'd have given them (Red) far fewer siege workshops.

They do have one major weakness though, which is actually..... ranged units.

If a ranged unit stands directly adjacent to Cerberus, and then attacks it... the attack will work, and do damage, but Cerberus will not counterattack. 


Still, I can see how plopping them in certain places could indeed lead to cheese tactics, hmm....

I do at least think these guys should have their cost increased a good bit.  Their current cost is quite low compared to other Greek units, which are supposed to be expensive and not very versatile compared to the Norse ones.   It's a bit too easy to place this guy.
