Haha.  Pretty much, although I think they will probably remain.

I hear the ambassador change is that they increase crime in enemy villages when they visit, they also can't be targeted by enemy military units due to their new diplomatic immunity passive.

Buh.   Well, didn't expect this change.

It sounds like you guys are pretty much removing the "civilian" category of units entirely, then?

Though I suppose it makes sense as there really isnt much strategy/tactics to the trading and diplomacy right now;  slap down the appropriate buildings, drop the right dude on the map, and then ignore them since they arent crazy guys with axes/swords/whatever.

The diplomacy is actually a lot more interesting as of the last version, and probably will stay as-is unless some problem is uncovered.  Having the dude walking between towns that HAVE to be producing military units in roughly equal volumes to not get him murdered is pretty interesting. :)

That wasn't the case with the traders and chapmen, though, which mostly got ignored and wasted time.
