I can kind of understand not being able to build on tiles with enemy units on them, but I don't know why I can't build on tiles with friendly units on them. I've currently got a blue soldier who seems happy to continue standing on the last tile that's in range of this city center. There's no way to get him to move, so do I just have to accept that blue is going to be a little behind in the balance of resource building simply because this guy won't freakin' move?

Is he attacking something from that position?

Typically, that's the reason why a unit wont move, is if they're firing/attacking from that position.   If this ISNT the case, and he's literally doing nothing at all, then it's a bug.   I dont THINK there's any glitches with movement right now though, as I dont think I've seen units just space out and stand there at all in recent builds.  I think that particular type of glitch has already been ironed out.

You can't directly cause the death of any units (you can via tokens but it isn't a direct action).  We really need a screen or a save to see what you are referring to here though.

Opened your save. My computer wept. Switched to the ST planet and ship icons filled my screen, so I zoomed out. Game told me that it _was_ totally zoomed out. You could seriously walk from one end of the inner grav well to the other without getting your feet cold.

I am also completely new to the game.  I agree with both issues that BobTheJanitor has with the tutorial.  I was stuck for a bit after the free placement rounds.  The tutorial should absolutely tell you to use your three actions, then end the turn.  This was confusing to me at first.  Especially since it says units will move, but they don't because you have to finish your turn first.

Maybe mentioning the turn structure would help.

Red placement (3 ap)/end turn - > Blue placement (3ap)/end turn - > watch the units

The setup phase is jarring a little because nothing happens at the end of turn 0.  You do your 9 AP for both sides then boom! turn 1, your still placing stuff, just for red again.

Yep, talking about the turn structure would help.  Also, explain that you don't control units.  Explain that they move and fight on their own, and your actions of building buildings and managing resources determines what units get built.  Explain to the player how to read the tooltips on the buildings and units.  There is so much important stuff here, and the tutorial completely ignores it.

The way I see tutorials is that they should hold your hand most of the way through, and let you continue the game as best you can after learning everything.  This is a decent tutorial, but it gives you way too much freedom with little explanation too quickly, in my humble opinion.

Honestly, if at turn 1 the "Survive turn 1 your first combat" tutorial popup said at the top,
"This is what your units do:"

That would be fine. At least that's what I think :)
The very first tutorial popup should have in very bold very big letters READ THE TOOLTIPS :)

Another little tweaky thing, the 'you just got to turn 30' popup happens right after one god appears but before the other. Once it was done I was poking around the map for a while looking for the other god, since it mentioned mousing over both of them, and finding nothing. Then I noticed that I still had the 'fighting time' play/pause/skip menu at the bottom. Once I hit play again the other god plopped down. Might just tweak that a wee bit so that both gods appear before the the direction pops up, just to be nice and clean about it.

(Also that unit that was annoying me got killed after a few turns, and now that I've moved on to having several town centers I see it's not that big a deal to keep things so perfectly balanced since the sides aren't all that balanced anyway) Oh and we could probably use some tutorial details somewhere pointing out that (as far as I can tell) each town center can get any raw resources, but has their own finished resources, and also that unit producing buildings can only build units based on buildings within their same town center. Took me a few turns to figure out why I wasn't getting any units in my new towns until I read the mouseover tips.

Is it possible to adjust the scroll speed?  I didn't find a slider in the options menu.  Did I miss it?

Those resource tidbits are in the tutorial... the first ones you do ...

You didn't miss it, there isn't one.

Well that should maybe be on mantis.  I am sure it is already posted.  Also, should I be spending all my Action  Points every turn or is it normal to leave some in the bank?

It wasn't uncommon to have extra points.  You can hold up to 9.  And there are some cases where you might want them.  So don't feel like you need to spend every point every turn.

About the scroll speed, it hasn't been put on mantis yet so feel free to do that :)

1.  Another thing that somebody brought up in the Steam forums is the player profile level.  They did not know where you could see what your level was.  I think it's on the main menu screen, but the tutorial says nothing about this.  It should, especially since there are buildings you can see in the tutorial that tell you you're profile level is not high enough.  There should be an explanation of what this means.

2.  Please add an explanation in the tutorial, or somewhere, that explains the victory conditions.  Is this not in there?  I have not completed the tutorial yet, but I haven't seen anything yet.

1)  Profile level is right on the Title screen. Not sure how you can miss that.

2)  VC are simple.  Survive until the end.  If you selected a score setting, you need to meet those goals as well.

Thanks for the confirmation, Cinth.  I know where and what these things are, but others do not, and they are posting questions about it.  I'm just saying it would be nice to be in the tutorial, so everything is very clear.  Not telling a player how to win a game, in my opinion, is a big hole, no matter how obvious.
