Most of the time I only do stuff because I feel like I have to do SOMETHING with my turns, I'm always tempted to say "it's fine the way it is, let it play out".

That's an excellent time to bank your turns. You can hold your actions, and use them in later rounds (up to 9).

Yea, banking is good for when you  need those actions.  If you're going to go over cap just spend them on stuff that produces more incense or moonstone or sunstone, etc.  Iirc that only expands your personal options without increasing faction power directly.  I may be mistaken about that though.

I think, in an expansion, the game can do with an automatic drain of some of these luxury resources (pottery and down). Makes it a little bit harder to stockpile them. :P

The only problem is then you have to fight the temptation plop out a dozen myth units just because you can.

That's how I lose most of my matches.  The same thing always happens to me in Sim City.  Go figure.   ???

Guilty of that. Especially in ultra late games.
Life is short. Have fun.

From my perspective, that is not a problem, that is a source of entertainment.

But what if you plop them out evenly?

I had a side lose a building, and I was like "Hmm... this mythological unit is pretty cheap and doesn't look like it does much damage. Let me just place a couple..." and then I had to balance it by placing a minotaur labyrinth.

Well, okay, that doesn't balance it, but now I don't have to worry about the score requirement!
