Boss battle question
« on: March 09, 2013, 04:03:44 pm »
*** Spoiler alert ***

I just completed the first boss battle in the warehouse. In the final room I found a green gem (the one that permanently gives health). Instead of using it, I used the portal and found myself on the world map - without the gem. Of course - I passed a portal.

Is this the wanted behaviour? It seems to me that I missed out on the health boost. Or was it granted?

The paper with the passcode is also gone from the inventory, so I just hope that it counts as "found". :-)

Hmmm... that's a really good point!  I think it might have been lost.  I'll need to look at that and see what I can do.  For the paper with the passcode, as it notes when you pick it up he'll remember it from then on.  Sorry about the green life gem, but thanks for finding the issue!

No problem, that's what a beta is for, after all. :-)

One other thing I noticed: After completing the boss battle, I returned to the forsaken home bonus and finally got my hands on some weapons in the overworld. After that I passed the sewers, finding some more and went on north. After the cutscene, in the next screen I died...

...and reappeared at the beginning of the section (cutscene again), but without any weapons in the inventory, as if that had not been saved. So, I had to go back through the sewers (weaponless) and find some more in the forsaken home.

So, I thought, maybe the inventory is not saved (correctly) during changes of sections in the overworld?

Cheers!

Regarding inventory, all consumables are lost when you die in the overworld.

I think I will change that, though, because it keeps confusing people and it is annoying. Originally it was to prevent farming of levels, but we already resolved that a different way.

Please do this! This is by far the most frustrating issue I have with the game currently =  / ...
(especially since I got stripped from my overworld consumable weapons after dying in a portal based level)

Being completely defenseless (aside from a bucket) after dying once on the overworld map is really no fun.
Even more so if there is no convenient way/location to get at least some defensive capability back...

PS: Aside from that (and Mary's dawdling) I am having a great time = )!
