Would you use an app to view forums/wiki?

The point of the app for the forums would mostly just be to add responsiveness and make it properly fit your screen, rather than being designed with a desktop in mind.

I suppose, but the forum already fits my tablet's screen (same with my phone, albeit only in landscape) And it doesn't load any slower than on my computer, more or less. The only issue android firefox/pale moon have in my experience is with wikia's pages, or slowing down if the battery is much too low. Except for urls, all of the bbcode I would use in a normal post (not much) isn't going to be that hard to type out here either if I don't want to tap the buttons and type inside them. I wrote this post on the tablet, for example.

Unfortunately with my android phone it has a VERY annoying habit having posts be of varying font sizes for forums of this format. Combine that with these forums dark background with light text and viewing it is a nightmare.

As for posting on the forums...my sig is still relevant years later.

So an app would probably really get me back into these forums.

An app for phones would definitely be appreciated. I never visit the forums on my phone because it's more work than its worth.

No, I already dislike when websites redirect me to a mobile version I don't want. I'm perfectly happy navigating the desktop version of sites on my phone. (It's especially obnoxious when they don't even provide a 'desktop mode' button anywhere).

The Mobile Browser can ask for the Desktop version if you don't like it. Check the menu button. (Chrome, Firefox and Dolphin have this).

I would most definitely use a wiki app for mobile. Forums would  be fun too if done well ( pictures on the desktop forum are pretty wonky already).

Fits my screen too (Samsung Galaxy S5) but then the text is too small so I zoom in and out. I use Chrome. Which browser do you use?

tapatalk for the forums has many time been suggested and declined by chris (he did not see time/usefulness ratio of implementing this high enough) I would certainly use tapatalk for forums if it was available. If it's a custom app it absolutely has to be not worse then tapatalk.

Firefox, or the android version of Pale Moon if I ned a tab from my computer. Text is fine witbout zooming.

it's been a while since i used tapatalk, but that's not a very high bar from what i remember.

I use Tapatalk. It helps me monitor, post and add photos to all my selected forums easily, without much of a bother. I can even set up the notifications option which notifies me every time one of the threads that I am interested in receives a new reply or an update.
