And there we go, Internet access fixed on my live Archlinux installation as well. For some reason my network driver wasn't loaded after I'd finished the installation. Once I found that, loaded the driver and activated dhcpcd I could access Internet and continue installing all the stuff.
I also made sure to load that driver explicitly on boot, as well as adding the network interface dhcpcd service to start as well.
