Updating the Wiki

Okay so I completely forgot about this, as I am prone to do....  be nice if that didn't happen every 5 minutes. 

Soooo.... what's the current status of this?   Is there anywhere specific you'd like me to start?  Now's a good time for it because I seriously have nothing better to do recently.

Though again, considering the very specific games I can actually work on while knowing what I'm doing.  Bionic Dues as a whole and TLF's combat side are the bits I could be super comprehensive about.


And expect bloody stupid questions as I inevitably randomly forget small bits of the formatting and such that are likely obvious to everyone else while inexplicably remembering the complicated parts.

The current status is . . . Needs assistance! Start wherever you can, since we need the whole wiki fleshed out at some point or another.

The biggest piece of formatting you need to remember is the linking. Since we have namespaces, the links are done a bit differently. Namely, you put the name of the game first then a colon and then the actual page name: [[Bionic Dues:Developers]] for instance. If you just want to display the page name, add a pipe on the end of that, and any custom text after said pipe ( | is a pipe).

I've long thought that someone should write a bot to do the drudgery of keeping all those AI War unit stats up to date.

I've actually been thinking about doing that. Of course, first I need time to design the bot and then implement it. So it might not happen for a while, or it might happen really soon. All depends on my schedule and if someone else does it first.

Hi, I just noticed that a bunch of the pages on the TLF main page are still broken and only about half the pages that were originally linked there have been migrated to the new namespace.

Any recommendations? I can help fix links once the migration is done.

Most of the ones that aren't migrated over weren't named like the others (The_Last_Federation_-_[PageName]). Feel free to migrate the remaining ones as you notice them, since I'm currently a bit busy with other stuff, but eventually I'll get along to hunting them down. If you do migrate them, just leave a redirect in place for the time being. Thanks!

Well, I've started the task of getting together some stuff like screenshots (mostly for images of the various bots and things) and descriptions for the BD part of the wiki.

It's amazing just how derpy this ends up making me in-game, because I get overly focused on a totally different goal.  Normally, I dont walk directly into BombBots. 

Still, it's getting somewhere.  Slowly.

Okay, the wiki site it self seems VERY slow to load whenever I'm trying to access it here... I'm ready to begin setting up the BD pages, sort of, but it's acting very, very slow at the moment.  Or it might be locked up, I'm watching it on a seperate tab here and it's going all wonky, but it's been doing that the whole time I've been browsing it to see how everything works, yesterday as well.

Also it took me forever to realize that I dont have to get screenshots of every bloody image since I can just take many of them right out of the game files... sigh.  Yay for missing obvious things!

The fun part will be making it so these actually are formatted in a way that looks decent.  They'll be a horrible mess for a time whenever I'm still working on them.

Chris and I have noticed the odd slow downs, but the only cause should have been fixed. I'll definitely look into it more now that I know it happens for other people too, and it isn't a result of my crappy internet. What I do is I reload the page bypassing the cache and that usually fixes it. Other times, closing that window and reopening it works. If there are specific pages that slow down, can you post them here or make a Mantis report with them included?
