I used to be here a lot around the Valley 1/2 game era (which I still regard Valley 1 as being probably one of the best games I have ever played to this day due to the randomized nature of a lot of things).

But now, I ain't really here much due to moving on to other game types (Racing and Platformers mostly) and job-hunting, but I still check up on Arcen every now and again and support them.

I mean, hell! I still bought The Last Federation when it ain't my sort of game (right now anyway) and all i'm missing from Arcen Games is the latest AI War Expansion, The Last Federation Expansion and Skyward Collapse Expansion and i'll probably get them later down the line when I get a job which lets me throw money around!

So does anyone else have that Developer that they just support no matter what, even if you do not like the game?

P.S: Make Valley 3 when you are super rich plz. Controls of Valley 2, gameplay of Valley 1.  ;)

Hmm, there's about 3 developers I follow pretty much no matter what, which is Arcen, Phr00t, and Vlambeer...

...but none of them have yet put out a game I dont like, hah.  Even if they did though I'd indeed still support it.  For the most part though, it's all been awesomeness all around.

There's a few others that are close, but not quite at the level of those 3.  As in, not enough to get me to do continuous testing.  I'd say Mojang and Minecraft here but that one is WAY too bloated and I cant exactly do helpful testing for them or something, so they dont count.

I'd also say Gaslamp if they put out more than one game every century or so.  I still need to have real go at Clockwork Empires here.

Arcen, really. I buy anything Arcen several times over, even if I don't like the game itself. Buy it for myself. Buy it for my brother. Buy it for anyone who might play with me.

Illwinter would get the same treatment from me, but they don't publish enough games for that to be relevant.

The same goes for Vlambeer - awesome devs, but not nearly as many games as Arcen :P

Cheers guys, thanks for the kind words.  Arcen in particular makes several different kinds of games, so I can definitely understand why some of the folks who prefer the Valley side didn't come over to TLF or AI War, and certainly why some of the AI War folks never jumped to Valley.

The next game that we're doing after Stars Beyond Reach has a lot of Valley 1 inspirations from it, incidentally, although it's not a platformer.  It's the one currently called by the (terrible) name Airship Eternal.  My concepts for that game have been evolving and evolving, and I have been realizing just what a huge amount of cool stuff can be done in it.
Have ideas or bug reports for one of our games?  Mantis for Suggestions and Bug Reports. Thanks for helping to make our games better!

Not me.

I don't support games I know I won't like (based on genre, setting, or other elements), regardless of the developer.

Amanita Design are the only other studio whose forums I go on these days (and there isn't much happening there at the moment anyways).

Besides them I'll buy anything made by Nifflas and Ice-Pick Lodge (or I would if Nifflas' next game wasn't WiiU exclusive). None of them have made games I don't like yet, so maybe I'll have a huge loss of faith someday. The only Arcensian thing I don't like is the platforming parts of AVWW2, and that's only because I'm terrible at it.
