Party Of Sin and The Cave

These are the two games I tried lately.
Party of Sin has a Demo, that I have not finished yet. While it is an eye candy, there are a few animation glitches, most prominently with the Greed's chain. The Greed character not only moving strangely while chained up it also gives me some flickering in certain screens. But that's minor.

The major is that the concept of 7 characters each with own abilities is very artificial in this game. It feels like you have a single character with 7 spells and an awkward way of casting them, since you need to switch a character then cast. Also objects in the world that are made for use in combination with particular character are super-cheasy. They have the torches of Envy's colour that only Envy can lit, buttons of Wrath's colour that only Wrath can push and so on. I wonder why they stopped at this and did not make all animated objects (like moving platforms) of Sloth's colour since only Sloth can slow them down.

From thematic perspective from the opening cutscene I was not able to deduce what hell and haven are fighting over (in prison!) and why both factions want to hurt our party of sins.

All in all I don't think I'll be getting this game.

The Cave does not have a demo, but I read a bit about it and watched some videos. This one seems decent. Not wow, not outstanding mind you, but I see myself sinking a few hours in it. Basically it's your tales of monkey island with an added twist of three actors instead of one. In a talking cave. The game concept seems simple enough, so it even feels like there is nothing to write about. I'm guessing that old proven recipes just never fail.

A friend of mine who was a big fan of monkey island got the cave because it has he same creator.  He played through the cave about half a dozen times and 100%ed all the achievements.  Though personally based on what I've seen from reviews (not played the game), it's combination of platformer and adventure does neither particularly well and just gets tedious.  So while the potential is there, I'll take a pass on the cave.
