I saw Total Biscuit's review of it, and I wasn't impressed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJ3Meki2-lU .

You really should give Starlancer a go, it is the action sister of Freelancer /plays in the same world even

I thought that freelancer is basically starlancer 2? I see not point to play previous version when there is a newer one available. Is this wrong? I mean sometimes game is taken in different direction entirely, like MOO or say Settlers, so there might be a point, but I think not in the case of starlancer/freelancer?

No, both games about as alike as Galciv and Sins. Starlancer is an extremely well done space shooter of the old-style which does many things extremely well when it comes to combat. The game is actually pretty much awesome, thats how remember it anyway.

Freelancer tickles another urge, the exploration and loot urge you know.. but Starlancer was all about the personal skill, shooting and making things explode, and it did that very *well*. Way better than any modern space shooter anyway. You ought to play it, the story was pretty well done, and the game still looks great.
