Just curious, where was the teaser?

I saw it on Facebook, it might have been other places.

Huh, very subjective.

Ports to consoles is big to some.

I'd be annoyed if it said "game changing" "never like you've seen before" or "game will never be the same again"...

I think it's awesome news.

It's not surprising however. And I also don't care about the exclusive content. In fact I hope they DO add some. It'll have the market pick it up. More Terraria sales means we'll hopefully see whatever they have in store for us next faster. Heck, he's probably not even doing much work on the port himself.
The problem is that they DONT have anything in store, but that stupid port. That and maybe some exclusive content, full stop.

I think by "in store for us" he meant "the next game", not more Terraria stuff.

I've spent most of my life as a PC and a console gamer, so I find the variety of rage PC gamers reserve for "big news" console ports to be quite mirthsome indeed.

Well the incessant childish rage going on now is just your cookie cutter internet bandwagoning. My only gripe has been clearly stated. That's it. Move on. Stop being stupid, whiny children.

And also, in the sense of inclusiveness, I feel the same way about when console gamers throw their toys out of the pram over "more patches/features/fixes" PC versions.

I'm really both a PC and console gamer, though I prefer PC. The only reason I'm kinda upset is because it doesn't mean anything to me at all! I mean I could play it on console, but in the end, I have fewer features, fewer options, can't back up my maps or characters, and can't download new maps... can't edit character inventories anymore to create specialized classes to play as, that have starting gear. I can't do any of that. It is entirely an inferior version of the game to what I already have, and all that really happened was I got mildly excited for absolutely nothing at all. I mean... that only means I get nothing directly out of this unless the console content comes to PC. If it doesn't, I guess I'll hope all the best for Redigit that he makes bunches of money and can make a really awesome game later down the line as a result.

In short, hype -> business as usual is the problem.

If this is true, it provides evidence that extra content, if true, is not without its own cost on the consoles.

That's always the case with console versus pc gaming, though. Consoles always don't get mods of any kind, but the console gamers get a lower price to make up for it. You either spend almost a thousand bucks on a PC, or you spend a few hundred on a console and lose the perks of a PC.
I mean okay, if it's something like a creative mode or an unlockable inventory editor, then I don't really care. Like I mentioned before, it depends on the content... but the announcement itself is underwhelming, which I think we've already attributed to poor PR.

I've always thought that. PC games compared to console games for so long have always had the advantage having mods, and thus almost infinitely greater content. So if the consoles have a smidgen of extra content in return for paying full price for a few months, then I don't sweat it.
Life is short. Have fun.

My opinion isn't budging until I know more. Either way I'm probably not going to completely rage about it. I'll just end up disagreeing if anything. The people really raging about it are the ones that need argued with.
