I kinda bumped off of Darkest Dungeon. The gameplay just seemed somewhat shallow and repetitive, the theme and narration were just a little bit too much, and I generally had the impression that it wasn't much beyond a prettied-up flash browser game.

It occurs to me that you can be just as negative as me sometimes :P

I think it's very difficult to avoid repetition in a game like that; anything which has turn-based RPG style combat is inevitably going to be really repetitive.  I cant think of one that's managed to avoid this... is why I normally stay away from RPGs of any sort, or things that play like them.  Well, that plus the fact that most are very easy.  Cant stand easy.  Get bored very fast.

The game is also like a roguelike in some ways, and that's another genre where it's impossible to avoid repetition.

So far for me though Darkest Dungeon has had plenty of challenge to it, so I've not really gotten bored yet.  Buuuuuuut, it needs more monster types I think.  It's not done though, so maybe it'll get them, dunno.

I dont understand the flash browser bit.  Over my head, that.

Now let's see.... so far, for the sale, I have bought:

Star Ruler 2

Enemy Mind

Danmaku Unlimited 2

RefleX

Enemy (yes, that's the whole name of that one. Yes, it's a dumb name. No, I dont know why it's called that. I like it though)

TIS-100

and then while looking at the list so I could type them out here, I got distracted and bought StarMade, which has been on my wanted list for awhile.

For the most part, all good so far.  Star Ruler 2 needs more tutorial.  Danmaku Unlimited 2 needs a damn replay save function, because argh.

The problem with Darkest Dungeon ist, a lot of the repetition comes from that there are only 3 dungeons in the game and two dungeons still have to get developed. Besides that, I don't really feel that the game is "repetitve". Maybe you are more critical than me.

I purchased two games today. Frozen Synapse (I always wanted this game) and Magic 2015. I know that a lot of players criticise Magic 2015 because it does not have the Two Giant Head mode (which I never play, so I don't care) and because of the Premium boosters (which I also criticise but that alone does not make the game entirely bad).
I played the demo of the game on Android (you can only play the first part of the campaign) and I liked it. That you can freely design your deck now is two steps forward in my opinion. A lot of players missed that in the previous games and now that it is here this still isn't enough.
Ah, well, if it comes to Magic the player base is alway critical.

Yay I haven't bought anything yet and I probably wont. My wallet thanks me.
Although I'm going to buy Master of Orion 2 and Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri on GOG whether they're on sale or not and play those. And of course I'm also going to play AI War and Dwarf Fortress.. hm or maybe I'll play X-COM Apocalypse.

Why do you want to buy Ai War again? Not that Arcen games wouldn't thank you that, but why buying a game again that you already own?

System Shock 2 FOR $0.99!  Anyone that doesn't own it yet should remedy that.
And if I didn't already own everything you listed, sometimes more than once, I'd agree.

Speaking of Toady, they setup a patreon a month or so ago as an alternate option to the normal donation method, which was kinda neat to see.

I just noticed that the premium boosters, for a lot of players the solely reason not to buy the game, are gone. Instead they are now called "battle boosters" and can be won with multiplayer battles. And there goes my only complain about this game.
I'm not sure however if you can still buy "battle boosters".

I've been away from the forum but got my Tapatalk app working on my phone so I should be slightly more active. There is nowhere near must-play games on over half of your list, in my opinion. But I'm glad someone likes those games.

It's not so much must plays as it is the best games that are on the best sales. At least, in my opinion.

Do you guys think x-com is worth getting while on sale, I have been thinking of buying x-com or interplanetary and have been having trouble on deciding which one to get.
