I just caught some alien breed 2: assault gaming last night. It was a lot of fun, and the game is actually challenging. Got it for free with the tickets. And, if you beat it on co-op, you get another ticket. Highly recommend using your tickets for that one.

Also, there is a summer camp group/chat you can get into by doing the first achievement. Lots of people in there trading achievements, helping out, and getting together for gaming. The greatest side effect of this sale is seeing gamers meet new players and play some of the games that might not have gotten enough attention.

I also notice that a lot of the prizes and achievements are incentivizing either buying the first game in the series or playing an existing game for about an hour. Of course, some of those achievement developers are clearly not doing this, like the super meat boy achievement. Ridiculous.

I'm really wanting Sword of the Stars and Terraria to get cheaper. Also looks like we have yet another friend-of-a-friend buying the AI Wars bundle, which is nice.

Terraria's pretty worth it for $7.50, but if you can get four people together it's only $5.60-something each for the four-pack right now, which I'm guessing is as good as you'll see for a while unless it's one of the daily deals this week, since it's still selling ridiculously well.

I'm getting pretty tired of all the daily deals being stuff I either already own or don't want.  Hooray, DAO Ultimate Edition is $10.  I just got that for $20 a few months ago...and didn't like it.  Torchlight is $3...I already played that to death a year and a half ago.  It's slightly better than the daily sales that have been going on for the past couple months, at least, but seriously, stop trying to sell me Kane and Lynch 2.  No one wants that crap.  Heh.

While K&L2 is pretty mediocre, if you have a few friends who are willing to get it with you, the multiplayer is actually pretty intense and fun for a few hours. (Mainly the "undercover cop" mode.)

So I was playing alien breed 2, and it seems remarkably like alien swarm except worse.  Game was really boring at start, kept feeling boring for quite some time.

Not to mention that there's no way to adjust the graphics quality, so it runs very choppily on my relatively low-performance machine.

You need to be able to play alien breed 2 cooperatively for it to be fun. I enjoyed it, although I ran into a few issues. Most notably, in the cargo hold level, there is an event that drops down pipework from the ceiling. If it drops between you and your partner, you can be separated and unable to respawn on the other side, in effect forcing you to quit the game and lose all of your credits. :-)

The Mount & Blade series is for sale.

Mount & Blade - there is no reason to purchase this game aside for a couple of mods that were never updated. Avoid this, don't buy the pack that includes it, it is a cruel trick. Warband is basically the upgraded version of this game, with all of its content plus better graphics, multiplayer, and a new faction.

Mount & Blade: Warband - this title is amazing if you like sandbox games and realistic fantasy. There is no magic, but plenty of swords to go around. You start off as a minor adventurer and can grow to lead an army, stand behind one of the warring kings, declare for one of the heirs of a faction and help them come into power, or create your own faction and unite the country under your own banner. It is very addictive if that playstyle appeals to you. The whole time I played this game, I found it somewhat reminiscent of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series (though obviously not as well-written.)

Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword
- Warband + guns, set on Earth instead of a fictional world. This was... not well-received initially. It was buggy, lacked options, firearms were stupidly overpowered. I regretted buying it when it first came out- I spent just under 100 hours with Warband, I spent less than 5 with this before quitting. It has since been patched, and I've heard it is greatly improved, but I have yet to play it since. Don't get me wrong, there were very good changes- actual quests that didn't feel generic, better trade, a storyline, a different recruitment style, better sieges. If it is as improved as the patch indicated, I would say it is a must-buy. Until I give it a fair try though, it is difficult for me to recommend at the full price. For less than four bucks, though? I say grab it.

Seems to be a zombie day. I picked up killing floor. I declined wings of prey yesterday, but I was really close.

If you like heroes of might and Magic, pick up armored Princess (although I liked its predecessor, 'legends' better).

I'm also up to 16 tickets!

Definitely agree with this.  Buy the whole package if you like that sort of turn-based strategy game.  For $7, you will get well over a hundred hours of gameplay, potentially over 150, and I'd go so far as to say that I like the new King's Bounty reboot more than I liked any of the HOMM games (which the original King's Bounty actually was the predecessor of way, way back in the day).  They're just really enjoyable games, and you can make them as arbitrarily easy or hard as you want (check out the "highest difficulty, no lost units, lowest playtime" challenges people have done for some insanity).

I enjoyed Killing Floor when my friends played, but some of the changes they made at one point to rebalance it kind of made it less fun for me, and I've had a hard time getting back into it whenever I've tried since then.  I still think its melee combat is more satisfying than L4D2's, though, so Valve should be ashamed of themselves, considering KF came out first.

I haven't played Jamestown yet, but it's gotten great reviews, and for $5 it's hard to pass up if you like shmups, so I grabbed a copy.

I've actually been debating King Arthur. I know it's not as huge sale mode as it was a few days ago, but it still looks neat. I'm a big Total War fan, so it seems like I'd like it, but then again, I'm not sure it's different enough to justify buying when I have most of the Total War games already.

I've been doing some catching up now that I have my desktop back, and I'm up to 23 now.  It looks like I'm beginning to run out of ones in games I already own that aren't too annoying to be worth the effort, though.  And now I have ME2 and Amnesia, so my list of things I was hoping to get in the sale has nearly run out, too.  I think I'm in pretty good shape for the rest of the year.  Heh.

It is. The battles are kind of a mix of Total War and World in Conflict with some big spells thrown in. I found the world, atmosphere and story very engaging, too.

I'm also at 23 tickets; some of the other games' achievements look like they would take a long time to get to. I'm wondering if the sale is going to end at one o'clock tomorrow or on Monday.

Terraria for $2.50, excellent.
