Oh! It's an RP!
You might put that in the thread title. I wasn't sure if it was something else or not.

There was a few tries for RPs on this forum before, but I can't remember a single one that attracted even a single sign up.
That shouldn't stop you from trying of course! ;)

I'm still so confused about what this is.

I'll just stay clear so I don't ruin it!

I'd say just join if you can? Maybe it needs more clarification as to what exactly it'll be for the less familiar folk. I'll be keeping out of it because I know I won't stay active.

Ah, I'm sorry, I come from a forum where it is very common for users to haphazardly sign up for things they don't understand.

This game is an RP inspired by AVWW. Here, a little explanation courtesy of our host.

: "HEY THERE! I'm F.O.R.D. or 'Final Omnidimensional Resolution Director.' I guess you could call me the universe's failsafe. I'm always waitin' around in case the Powers That Be start smokin' on the job!"

: "If you're listenin' to me, that means somethin' rotten's happened. I'm awake and it's my job to guide four select few participants from across the universe to this here land. Hey, have a look-see."

: "What you're lookin' at here is a shard, a piece of the old universe that was blown to pieces and shot across space-time. It's pretty bare right now, but that's where you come in! Kind people retrieved just moments after everything went koo-koo. I need your help to build this shard up, connect it to other shards and, in time, rebuild space anew! All you gotta do is sign up - don't worry, ain't too hard - and we'll get on with the 'how.'"

I would join but I don't have any idea here about the world, background, what works as a character element, or much of anything really. Perhaps after someone else has joined I will.

Ninjaed, well that helps, I think I have an idea for my character now. Was magic around before the cataclysm?

I think I will change the sign-up sheet to not be "magical element" but "trade/specialty." That can be magic.

If it might exist somewhere in the universe, it works.

I bet I can guess which forum you're talking about, freeform. ;)

As to the game, I might sign up later once I've thought of something interesting.

Well I have a really good idea for my character, but I'm really busy and between classes in school at the moment so I'll have to post it later.

Given that A Valley Without Wind is more or less set in the entire omniverse, I'm pretty sure you could put anything into your character. There's probably a shard that contains that somewhere.

Eheh, actually I think you guys right, this may be the wrong place to run this.

I mean, not even the whole "no one has time to sign up" thing. This forum just isn't very active, and I can see slowness being a huge problem. Sorry.

Essock

History
Essock is a revolutionary from the world Proxus. Proxus is governed by the mysterious Time Lords, who hold absolute control over time itself. Unfortunately, the Time Lords do not care about the citizens of Proxus, too worried about their own agendas and secret wars.

Essock was in training to learn to become a Time Lord himself, when his family was killed during a fight between Duraxus and Minatoo, two rival Time Lords. Even though either one of them could easily adjust time to prevent Essock's family from dieing, neither did so despite Essock's pleading. On that day, Essock swore vengeance upon the Time Lords.

Essock left his studies and gathered like-minded people in his quest for vengeance. Eventually he gathered enough people in his group to battle the Time Lords. His group is organized with absolute secrecy, no-one knows the identity of anyone else, and masks are worn to prevent others from seeing their faces. This helps prevent the Time Lords from simply wiping them out before they are even born. Calling themselves the Temporal Dusk, they are the most paranoid group to ever exist. As they are fighting a war where their enemy will always strike when they are at their weakest, where the enemy can always adapt to any attack, they are some of the most skilled warriors in the world.

More recently, the Time Lords' war between themselves has heated up, constant battles all over the world have stretched causality to the breaking point. Then the Cataclysm came. Scattering the members of the Temporal Dusk far and wide across the new universe.

Essock has sworn further vengeance upon the Time Lords, believing that the constant time wars are the cause of the Cataclysm. He now searches for a way to reunite the Temporal Dusk, and searches for any trace of the elusive Time Lords, in order to wipe them out once and for all....

Abilities
As Essock was partially trained as a Time Lord before his tragedy, he is capable of adjusting time around himself a bit. He has enough training to stabilize his personal timeline, preventing him from being harmed in the past, and thus is the only member of the Temporal Dusk who does not need to hide his identity. Furthermore, Essock is capable of seeing into the future for about a minute. Not enough for any strategic benefit, but long enough to make him a fearsome enemy that is just about impossible to attack by surprise. Temporal dilation also makes him rather fast and increases the amount of time he has to react to his opponent's future moves. Long experience leading a war against the Time Lords has given him a keen strategic mind, and a paranoia about remaining constantly ready for battle.

  • +Can see short term future. Improved accuracy and dodging ability.
  • +Can slow the flow of time on himself. Improved speed and dramatically improved reflexes.
  • -Well known by his enemies. Will be attacked without warning by Time Lords.
  • -Warrior. Does not have many skills that do not relate to fighting.
  • *Paranoid. Can react to sudden attacks easily, but is constantly on edge.

Well, here is my character. I hope I left enough plot hooks to keep ideas flowing.

Side note, I got my current username of Oralordos by sticking Time Lord into google translate for greek and tweaking to make it slightly different.
