Well, looks like I'm not the only one who had a negative impression of Widowmaker.

Blizzard just nerfed the ever living hell out of her.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/4o1uiv/overwatch_patch_notes_june_14_2016/

Her fully charged body shot now does 120 down from 150. This means that the one-hit kills on squisher characters like Tracer or Zenyatta are no longer possible. Headshots still do the same amount of damage, but as I said, this is a massive nerf.
This sounds like an acceptable change. A sniper should require skill, if you can kill enemies from body shots there is no skill required. Since they didn't change the headshot damage, you still do the same damage output if you are good.
sounds like a pretty perfect fix not that nerfing her head shot damage would be a good thing considering that the character would utterly use less if you did that.

ps now if only they could be this sensible when they have to balance hs

So I got weak and bought this.. netcode is bad, obviously.. client side prediction should never be used... and have to admit match making is keeping me on a clean 50:50 win-loss ratio but it does no longer feel rigged like in the beta... and I've had my fair share of close games, some rofl stomps, 3 times it joined me into a straight loss with barely seconds on the clock. But 3 times it joined me in a win with barely seconds on the clock.. so yay? ;P

Kinda fun game, let's hope they add more maps/characters...

I was in the odd situation of playing 1 day with old and 1 day with new version so the changes were really jarring for me. The real nerf is on McCree who can now no longer 1 shot + burst everything. Widowmaker change is good, only downside is it's pretty hard to actually see where the head is on some of those hulky characters.

Overall I enjoy playing it..

I guess it's part of the challenge of playing a character that is able to due humongous chunks of damage in one go.

The most annoying thing about McCree is not his revolver fanning, the accuracy of his main attack, or high noon, it's that damn Flashbang. I don't necessarily think it's overpowered, but like if it stuns you, you're pretty much a goner and it's very easy to land.

Well he dies pretty quickly to a Soldier76 or Widowmaker... generally you can tell the idea is that the more HP a char has, the less ranged damage he can do. The chars with lowest HP are the ones with most damage skills, but if you MISS that flashbang or only 1 gets stunned you are usually dead very quickly. Heck as DVA I absolutely adore facing MCREE.. not so much, tracer, genji, roadhog... generally speaking. The game is well balanced imo... there are some spots on those maps that need some fixing though. Some of the maps have VERY little cover and only 2 approaches..... which I don't find very fun.

Have to admit I played with someone who knew how to play Mercy and she even got POTG for reviving the ENTIRE TEAM after a ultimate wipe.. ;p

I haven't forgotten about this thread but Paladins just deployed a major balance change to all of the characters so now I have to play and re-think how they're handling things now. It can be a bit crazy with a Hi-Rez beta...

Mercy's resurrect is my absolute favorite to use. I've never gotten a full team-rez, but I have gotten four before and it feels so great to completely nullify someone else's ult. It's high noon? Not today.

It's really frustrating though when I screw up and die and have to walk back, seeing all the critical health and dead indicators in the distance and being unable to help. I once saw my entire team get wiped by an ultimate that I could have revived if I hadn't been dumb and gotten killed early in the engagement, so I just had to watch the five little markers expire while I made the trek back.

I got a legendary skin for Lucio so I decided to try him out some more and he's really fun, but I 'm pretty awful with him so I usually just end up going back to Mercy.
I can already tell this is going to be a roller coaster ride of disappointment.

No, I'm holding off on ranting about today's patch because: Beta. But for those that don't know, they're currently testing with all of the character's speed essentially cut in half and its miserable. I had to quit after a single game.

That's all I'm saying though because this is still a beta and they do this kind of crazy thing all of the time.

If you think movement speed in half is bad, look what Epic pulled in Paragon this week
http://www.pcinvasion.com/epic-paragons-draft-penaly

Yes, if any one of your team does not pick a hero, you get a 3 stage increasing TIME penalty where you can not queue up. So 1 dude not picking hero = entire team can't play for 5, 20, 60 +++ minutes

urg that's just the worst so if I had to wait 10 plus minutes to find a blasted match(as is want to happen in games like that) and then one person fails to pick in time and they just get kicked out and forced to not play?! how hard can it seriously be to just specify that for a single person? if I was interested before in this game it is certainly non existent now.
