After 10 years, I finally feel like I work in the police

I've spent 10 years in the Swedish Police Force as everything from a "simple" support technician to a forensic IT specialist. Now I'm a specialist IT-investigator in Cybercrime. I work with severe sexual crimes against children, mostly over the Internet (exploitation of minors for sexual posing, grooming, verbal and image sexual assault) and other sexual crimes against children (cuddly hug , exploitation, child pornography etc).


Today, I was finally offered a uniform. I'm not a police officer. I'm a civilian specialist. But the gesture to offer me, a civilian, a uniform...is very meaningful to me. So I had to take a picture and celebrate it.

Congratulations to you.  That's really quite an admirable job, and one of those ones that I "nope" out of pretty fast.  I could never deal with what you must have to on a daily basis.  Very good on you.

I didn't notice that at all and don't forget the part about them exploiting them to hug and apparently that counts as porn not that that surprises me at all/real talk that's pretty awesome must be very rewarding job at times feels wise.(if you get what I mean I really hope I phrased that correctly)

It's a job that is interesting, stimulating, exciting, horrifying and depressing all at the same time. I couldn't dream of a better job tbh. I feel like a superhero.

I wanted to be an IT forensic, some years ago. I don't really know why I am in AI now, but anyway. Forensic have been my dream-job for quite a good chunk of my life. I realized this job often deal with... this sort of crime, reading an article, a story of a guy telling what it's like to deal with child pornography in a daily job. That wasn't a turning point to me, and I still hope that one day, maybe in another life, I'll be an IT forensic-superhero. (I've got many plans for my next reincarnation. Can you believe that? )
