Personnaly I only really listen to a band named Fall Out Boy and any other songs that I come across and like. So in other words I listen to punk pop music.

Folk Metal is pretty great, yeah. Though I still prefer instrumental music.

Been listening to this since I found out it had a name from an lp, today.

funny thing is I kinda hate metal honestly I used to think it was either just noise or boring I've taken a liking to folk metal because it doesn't take it self so dam seriously that music clip is pretty sweet looks obscure as all hell.

Its not exactly obscure as hell, its just a part of an older SMT game's sound track and not titled something like 'Battle 2', which shows up more often. Its not too far off in views from some more recent tracks from the same company, actually :)

I was listening to Power Metal during April but now currently listening to more calmer Videogame soundtracks like Eve Online's OST. As well as music like this: http://nervoustestpilot.co.uk/album/frozen-cortex-original-soundtrack. (Its so good).

I tend to have a rotation of music I listen to, depends on my general mood. But it's a wide variety so I won't list out every genre I listen to.

I get sucked into this every once in a while and have to stick it on repeat.
Tonight was an accident relative to the date, but certainly a good track for Cinco de Mayo.
(I don't listen to much music, most of which is either parody or vocal-less).

I usually just listen to a random youtube playlist of Touhou remixes. You can listen for hours without hearing the same remix over again.

I've been listening to electonic stuff for the last few days, in particular Dopplereffekt and alva noto. Normally I prefer stuff that's more melodic, this just happens to work at the moment.

Although speaking of melody - Air!

  • Avenger? I hardly know 'er!
Transistor OST
Touhou OST
Ace Combat V OST
etc.
So basically video game soundtracks.
I can already tell this is going to be a roller coaster ride of disappointment.

FWIW, the song's called An Honor Befitting That Name just about everywhere you can find it. I prefer Take the Shield, Raise the Spear anyway. Good music to kill a living genesis to.

Replying to this post here, I am SO disappointed by Q's ost. After the excellent mixes in the P3 movies (and as an EO fan) I was looking forward to the game, but ultimately decided to pass. Better music might have convinced me the other way.

In a fit of hypocrisy, I'm listening to the Xenoblade X soundtrack. Right this second it's Don't Worry, the robot flight theme. A lot of people are complaining about the ost, but I quite like it.

Man, Ace Combat had some ace music.

I really like the music of Parov Stelar. I cannot say exactly what I like about it but any song I listen from him is directly a like. Favourite song is "Catgroove".
Besides that I like the video game music remixes of DjtheS from youtube (and I think he has also a bandcamp account). He mixes soundtracks of popular (mostly nintendo) video games with techno remixes and similiar stuff. I don't like everything from him but most stuff he does is very refreshing and likable.
My favourite songs from him are the disciple months one..

Parov Stelar is a lot of fun

For those in this thread interested in folk metal, try some Eluveitie.

I also listen to a lot of "Indie" music. Favorites there include My Morning Jacket, The Decemberists, and The Arctic Monkeys.

If you guys want something really different, try the dance-punk band known as !!! . Here's one of their songs (though the actual video isn't great, so just listen)

If I told you what I'm listening to you'd run away with your ears covered. I have a very particular taste that is generally not appreciated.

Ooh, haven't heard that one yet in the lp. Sounds like a final boss-ish theme though.

How are the p3 movies, by the way? i haven't tried to look for anything related to them, since I had no idea if they were any good and heard conflicting opinions on p4 the animation.
