Humble Bundle: Neo Geo
« on: December 09, 2015, 03:06:43 am »
Great bundle. I used to play all of these games on gametap,  many of them multiplayer on the old Gt player. Competitive twinkle star  Sprites was amazing. Of course, the hidden characters are a little overpowered. And then there is metal slug and King of fighters, both great series. Metal slug has some of the best art and is very challenging while still being fun. If you are wondering what all of these games are, it's quality. I picked up the $10 bundle because I like them all.

Hey yeah, I heard about this. Most of these are just ROMs, I have to point out, but if you buy them the Steam versions could well get upgraded down the road.

Not a bad bundle, really.

Though as most (all?) of these were also in the arcades, that means they're already on my PC in the giant arcade archive.

Otherwise I might pick it up.

Though I've never been much of a fan of Metal Slug at all.

do twinkle star and sprites have good single player? I tend to be much more into single player than multi player really.(mainly because playing multi player is usually utter misery on my laptop due to its hatred of multiplayer and how it refuses to run it at a decent rate)

It may just be the best game of the bunch, so yes. I think you would be able to run multiplayer twinkle, is extremely old by now.

It's not too bad.  Programming AI to simply dodge things in a shmup format is apparently alot easier than getting it to do other things in other genres.  Some games have done this *very* well.  But it's not too bright otherwise.  Though that's typical of AI in competitive games.

Though, granted, I'm aware I may not exactly be the best person to judge this.   But all in all, it's a good game nonetheless.
