Riot (finally) acknowledges the ping by AZN. Say they are looking into it. This has been the hot topic over the last day and the cause of many of the post deletions mentioned in the OP.

Normally no one ever takes issue to threads derailing everywhere. We are small community and love talking. But this time I took issue with the purposeful derail and the "Yeah, I am bored and trolling this topic because you guys take this stuff so serious.." by eRe4s3r.
I thought everyone around here already knew that eRe4s3r doesn't have a "not trolling" setting, it only goes as low as "only low/moderate trolling because something actually impressed him" ;)

Anyway, yea, if there's still a live ember of the original discussion going here I would appreciate it if any genuinely-other topics (like prometheus, red faction: guerilla, or pancakes) were to happen in other threads.  A new one, perhaps.  Though I'm pretty sure that's what AIW patch threads are for after the first few hours too.

Doesn't really seem like that'll accomplish much besides secluding Riot's game more.

League of Legends is either the first or second largest PC game in North America depending on your source of statistics. Secluded is not the world you are looking for.

I know its not the best word, but it fit what I'd been thinking. It is a big game for sure, but people have to hear about it somehow, and only being at its own thing instead of appearing alongside other games makes it less likely you'll hear about it if you haven't already, and makes it easier to avoid for people who can't stand it (or just don't care enough to watch it).

TotalBiscuit chimes in.

Of note and not mentioned in the video is a different problem he has had with Riot. A while back Riot created a referral system with a reward at 10k referrals to work with Riot to help create a champion. Though he is under NDA on the details, TotalBiscuit was able to say that Riot has refused to follow through with that promise.

I couldve sworn the trolling started with the OP. None the less, it has been very interesting watching the thread fall apart since then.

On topic; Who actually won this event?

Are you talking about the stuff from the string of tweets that starts here-ish?

No one yet. They are trying again on Wednesday.

If true this is a terrible thing. Riot NEEDS to stop trying to shut out competition. E-Sports is no where near large enough for one game to take out all the others. Many people will NEVER play or care about a moba, but they might LOVE an RTS, or a Fighter, etc. Hell even the major sports don't do this, I walk into a Buffalo Wild Wings and see Football, Hockey, and Basketball all in one place. Not "oh shit this bar is a Basketball only bar."

Makes me really sad, even more so the barcraft movement started from the Starcraft scene, not LoL, thus the name.

Edit since I am top post, response from Riot: http://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/1165es/riot_outlawing_barcrafts_to_include_lol_if_you/c6jo274

Earlier a Barcraft Boston organizer responded: http://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/1165es/riot_outlawing_barcrafts_to_include_lol_if_you/c6jnwv6
*facepalm* Riot.

Hehe, but my purposeful derail certainly helped to keep this thread nice and child friendly, didn't it? ;P

I just had the feeling if I hadn't jumped in and derailed it this would have ended up a shitstorm. Not because of the people posting so far, but because there were other very off-rails post in-between before mine that could already have caused some flaming if someone had responded in a wrong turn, this way it got over-posted because you kept busy with my post and the problem solved itself, now it's an interesting Thread, no longer toxic (which really only means, there is no potential for a shitstorm anymore ,p).

I find the entire league situation, not just with moba's particularly interesting so I honestly don't intent to derail it any further ;p Especially how the developers of these moba games try to lock down multi events with these swag pressure contracts..

And the results.

A bunch of warnings issued, and a $30k fine to AZN for the turn and ping in the game against TSM.
