while of course getting teleported a lot because the place is swarming in monoliths...
I think they only ever teleport you if you look at them long enough or maybe if you get too close also.
Looked up that mod just now actually... seems it's being continued again.  Latest version is for 1.7.10 (the version of the game that most mods are still using, when it comes to the big modpacks) and they're working on the 1.10.2 version.   Now THAT was the other thing that always irritated the heck out of me with mods:  You'd basically be stuck in the past, as the core game goes, because it took freaking AGES for mods, particularly the big packs, to update, due to.... something.  Still, now I'm interested to have another go at this mod.  I'd thought it was dead but it looks like it got handed off to someone.
I kind of wish I could try it, problem is I long ago lost my password and am not sure how to recover it, I made a minecraft account with my brother, he named the password and I think the email, we wrote it down, but he wrote down the wrong password and I think there was a problem with the email too. I haven't been able to play minecraft on the computer since. Any ideas how I could fix that?

These might help, maybe:

Unfortunately not, I will probably have to buy a new copy if I ever want to play it on the computer again, which I probably won't do since I was getting king of tired of the game by the time it wanted me to resubmit the information rather than it just being saved, with the information written down on a piece of paper being incorrect.

Afaik the majority of the mods are still in 1.7.10 because theres a major compatibility hole between 1.7 and 1.8+.

There were also a non-zero number of developers who looked at 1.8 (or higher) and said, "Nope."
I think there's a lot to be gained by updating, but it definitely requires re-learning how to interact with a lot of systems.  The blockstate format is amazing, but the JSON model files are a pain to deal with.  There's hundreds of easy-to-make mistakes that your IDE can't help debug.
