I have to admit the soundtrack has really grown on me also. It's not typical game music, especially for a game set in space (you expect swelling orchestral stuff with brass and strings), so it took a while. Now I daresay it's a heck of a lot better than a lot of other game soundtracks.

To defend those other games, they often follow space opera, and that often include an orchestra.

Not that I'm unhappy with Pablo in any way, just giving the other side.

The standard orchestral stuff would be nothing new and nothing interesting so I really prefer the current style.

Haha! Well, the whole Ancient Shadows OST is going to be a concept album in 3 chapters.

I'm going to write a whole thread about it very soon, but just to give you a heads up, the three chapters are: 1) The Human Awakening, 2) The Zenith Revival, and 3) Revenge Of The Spire.

They'll basically tell a history of AI War from the beginning until now. More info to come in the next few weeks. But, if you're a fan of the music, this is about to be biggest soundtrack to any of our games.

I saw that track on the Ancient Shadows page yesterday. I thought that the part in the middle sounded like someone was doing a Heroic Sacrifice.

The basic concept for this track is that the current leader of the Human army is convincing the soldiers out of cryo-stasis that this is "A War Worth Fighting" against the AI.

It'll make more sense once the tracks are in chronological order. The theme you heard half way through is the "Ancient Shadows" theme. It will make its way throughout the entire soundtrack.

That's a great one. 0:14-1:24 is my favorite part, it's the most dramatic. I'm looking forward to the rest of the tracks.
