It's amazing to see how similar many of the thoughts in this thread are to my own. That's all I'm going to say for now. Thanks for all the input, there was some new, some old, and some confirmation.

*thumbs up*

Its pretty unlikely that one of you won't feel a desire to pursue a more formal relationship from what you've said. I think you should wait for the opportune moment, act, and see what happens.

However, no matter how much I want to give you advice on what to do, you have so much better information than I do. I hope stuff works out one way or the other, but either way that you both benefit from your friendship/whatever.

Good luck ... you're gonna need it.

Errr, attack poisonous blood FBs with melee weapons while using your infants for shields?

Ok, so maybe be a bit selective about the Dwarf Fortress life lessons.

As not-optimistic as it sounds, this is kind of my view of life. The more you lose, the more you gain.
...kind of.
I mean I'm not under the impression that losing friends or losing family members or anything is actually good. But, from all of that, you learn. Learning is fun. Transitively, losing is fun! It just sucks for a while until you realize what you learn from the experience. I'm not trying to be pessimistic though, Mr. Fox. You know better than anyone whether it's appropriate to be optimistic or not.
